Small, yes. Run-down, maybe. Cracked, definitely. Fascinating - definitely, though an educated guide helps! If you are in the square it is just behind you. It's damage is all earthquake based and the fact that it is still in need of 'help' is down to...More

The churches of the Peru really are run down compared to other countries. This one you are not missing anything if you avoid.

This church is very pretty inside. They have a freewill donation box at the door. It’s worth a look to go inside and see its beauty. Photos without flash are allowed.

This is the church on the Plaza de Armas in Yanque. It's quite lovely both inside and out. Evident damage from a strong earthquake recently.

Do not miss this church when passing Yanque, it is definitely worth visiting (although yet another one). We like the outside, the length and the architecture with entrance in the middle of the long side.

Nice small square with a church. Free entrance for a quick peek around. Tons of street vendors and ladies with baby alpaca and falcons for pictures. I tried to avoid the ladies with birds because I was told they stole the wild birds from their...More

The old colonial churches of Peru look like European churches that melted a bit under the heat. :-) This of course only adds to the charm and character. The Immaculate Conception Church is no different but what made this special to me is the live...More
