Even though the sight says it is on private property it is still accessible and worth visiting. It is a great reminder that Augustus John was once a resident of Fordingbridge. Hopefully in time it will be put in a more prominent site.

Very characterful statue which still has echos of controversy among locals. Augustus used to pat the head of every child he passed in the high street - just in case they were one of his - enough said.. Sit a while by the river - you can wander through the gates down to the end of the riverside section as this is a public area (despite occasional information to the contrary by one mislead property owner in the environs).…
