May 2016 • Family
We came here on May 2 and only a few trees were blooming. The good part was there were only a few cars too as a result. We drove straight from the New Chitose Airport and the drive was very pleasant. My daughter was really happy to see the farms, horses and cows along the way, which made the trip worth it even though we did not see the full bloom of the cherry blossom.
As we drove for the next 9 days, we saw many spots with beautiful cherry blossom, one in mind was in Furano that is close to the Furano Delice. If you are just driving to Shizunai for the Cherry blossom, it may not be worth it when you can see them in many other places. If it's on your route, then it is a different story. Just my 2cent worth.

My personal feeling is that when you look up or look afar, it is very beautiful. The two sides of the road are filled with beautiful cherry blossoms. When you look down, there are too many vehicles parked on the two sides. There is no way for you to take a nice clean picture of just the road with cherry blossoms.
The day when we got here, there was some kind of event. There were tons of "food truck like" vendors here selling grilled seafood. I had the best/largest scallop here. Best experience ever!

Hi, I intend to drive to Nijukken Road next weekend 2 May. Wondering if it is worth the drive there considering it is late in the Sakura season? If it is worth it, are there other places of interests along the way from Sapporo? Thank you.
