Wonderful spot!

We stopped in here after a dolphin watching boat trip out of Kilrush (marina just across the street) as 3 of the marine biologists were on the boat with us. Fantastic spot, with a lot to see and learn. My kids (ages 8 and 10) absolutely loved it, as did my husband and I. The staff were welcoming and excited to talk about the dolphins and their work.

We visited the Shannon Dolphin Centre yesterday with a group of students from St Flannans College. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The 2 guides Trea and Frances were informative and helpful.

Hidden little gem. Guys there really know lots about the marine life on display. They went out of their way to explain about whales and dolphins and their own experiences and encounters

This small museum tells the story of the Shannon harbor's unique population of bottlenose dolphins. The docent shared information about the ongoing scientific study and showed us skeletons of dolphins and whales -- this would be a fun stop with kids.

Visited conveniently during a rainstorm. Guided round this small but fascinating place by a very informative guy clearly working in a field he loves. Dolphin and whale bones, sounds, info.

Dolphinately worth dropping by!!
Jul 2016 • Solo
I spent a week in Kilrush and this is definitely a fantastic hidden gem! The research they're doing here is fascinating, I'd no idea there were Shannon Dolphins!! The girls who were around on the day were so knowledgeable, and I learnt so much without even meaning to! Thoroughly enjoyed my few hours there. Earlier in the week I'd dropped by to inquire and almost didn't bother as there was quite a rude English man having an exchange with someone. I'm glad I decided to come back as it was well worth my time (and said rude man wasn't there the next time! :) )
Definitely recommend a visit
