If you are planning to visit Vittorio Veneto and especially the old village of Serravalle, this church is something special to visit. Is a wonderful walk from the center where, following the steps, you can reach this wonderful church with a amazing view over Vittorio Veneto city. Beside the church there is also a restaurant. My suggestion is to book the table in advance in case you need to stop there. From Santa Augusta you can follow also some trails and visit Monte Pizzoc on the top of the hill or the other small village in the area.

Legend says that St Augusta was the daughter of the Gothic king Mauricio.the girl was martyred by her father because of her Christian faith using fire, the wheel and sword.According to tradition the girl transformed bread into flowers as she was surprised by her father helping out the poor people of the neighbourhood.

The "trek" up to Santuario di Sant'Augusta isn't easy, but it's well worth it. My friend and I discovered it by accident and were wearing flip flops but still made it up fine! The views from the top are stunning, and the church itself is beautiful. It's one of my favorite spots in VV. It's kind of hidden, as it's up behind the Sant'Augusta steps; you start off walking uphill through the woods with no end in sight! Again, though, it's totally worth it. If we did it in flip flops, you can make it to the top! :)

Wonderful walk up to the top via the stairs path. Unfortunately the church was closed to visitors that day but the view on the area was beautiful. Return trip was via a wider path used by horseback riders and cars although there were none on the road that day.

Just did it today, it will take you approximately 15min. Down path is easy and will take you another 15min. Nice workout can be combined. Great views.

I first came when I was 12 and almost 30 years later it's still just as beautiful and enchanting. Has a lovely little bar at the top too after the trek up the mountain.
