Barry and his team brought very impressive geographic awareness and context to our experience but to me they differentiate themselves from peers in how they deliver that experience. From before, all throughout, and even afterwards the thorough and proactive communications ensured that we were always ready for, educated by, and excited about what we were doing. This experiences was the perfect balance of personal time, group time, excursions, and supervised time management. As amazing as our trip was, Barry and his team are one of the premier highlights.

Your Andalucía is a family-owned business that delivers an indescribable experience. Our (eventual) group of ten experienced mystical Andalucía through the expertise and professionalism of Barry Simpson, his wife and team of colleagues. We visited Cordoba, Ronda, Seville, Granada and Malaga, with interesting stops between cities. A group of six college friends were celebrating our daughter’s 40th birthday—we, her parents, and another mom accompanied them. Six of us arrived in Malaga airport, from 3 different U.S. states. Barry was waiting to transport us to Cordoba but asked the tired travelers if we wanted to visit Mijas (a white hilltop village). He walked us through the village explaining the significance of the area, leaving us with suggestions for lunch. Sitting in the sunshine and watching the sea, we experienced fine Spanish cuisine. This was typical of our days, a surprise or serendipity on the way to the next destination. After two days in Cordoba and one in Rhonda, our group of four caught up with us. Barry Simpson’s timing was perfect—he delivered our friends (through road construction) at the arranged time—where we became a group of ten—requiring two vans for transportation. One night for some, two nights for the group of six, convinced the others of the reason we fell in love with Ronda 3 ½ years ago. Barry Simpson is a master of detail. The group suggested during planning: boutique-style hotels in city centers, a cooking class, cultural tours with an English-speaking guide, a walking food tour, buggy rides in Ronda, a winery visit, perhaps a stay in a parador, and time for serendipity. Barry delivered it all. Our tour was a custom one as our group of busy professionals had limited time. Barry offers reasonably priced seven-day tours featuring his villa as a residence rather than hotels on his website: yourandalucia.com. Through Barry’s knowledge of the area, he provided us with experiences we did not know existed. Twists and turns provided us with surprises: the magical Mijas (a white village), Castle of the Stars (Castillo de la Estrella, a Moorish castle), interesting stops at roadside cafes that showcased the area and used real tablecloths for lunch. Besides visiting the usual cultural sites in the four cities, Barry included the Pileta paleolithic cave paintings at Benaojan, a tour of a Bodega (winery) where the owner served us a 12-course lunch, including fish, rabbit, beef and pork, as well as vegetarian dishes. The winery concentrates on quality over quantity and everything is done by hand. It showed in their wines—later served to us at El Pimpi in Malaga when we requested a bottle of red. We also saw the Dolmen of Menga, a megalithic burial mound near Malaga. My highlights included a Paella Cooking class atop a terrace in Seville, and a walking Tapas tour that ended with a small play performed by the group, although I loved the cultural tours. And the fresh fish and other dishes were amazing. My husband tried authentic dishes and I ate lots of fish. When on our own to choose a place, we chose restaurants with mostly Spanish eaters—worked every time. Besides a walking tour of each city, at every transition, Barry was waiting with entrance tickets, restaurant suggestions, tips on how to use free time, transportation, and a smile. In case you think this was a match made in heaven, it was not. Although my husband and I are seasoned travelers, we had not been responsible for eight other people. My initial forays for a custom tour resulted in some scary responses. It’s hard to send money overseas to someone found on Google. I gave Barry a hard time, mostly fear-based, and he responded, every time, in every way, with professionalism. My experience should ensure you that his company is of the highest caliber. And he deserves his five-star reputation. Thank you for an indescribable Andalucian holiday, Barry. And thank your wife for laundering our daughter’s coat after the muddy buggy ride (privately booked) in Ronda. Nikki, Josh and Amanda said it was one of the high moments of their trip.

Our group of 10 (friends and family) just finished a 10-day tour with Barry, and it was absolutely amazing. In addition to dealing with all of the logistics (transport, hotels, etc.), Barry took us on/arranged really interesting and fun activities - a paella cooking class, a trip to a vineyard, a stop at a castle on our way between cities, etc. Barry is full of wonderful stories and historical knowledge, and paid attention to every single detail. Honestly, we could not have asked for more. I, for one, will be seeking out Barry's services again in the future. Thank you!

I was lucky to find Your Andalusia Tours! They provided the best itinerary for our one week trip in Andalusia. We had Barry Simpson as our cultural tour guide. He is the most experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated, personable,,guide we ever had. He took care of every detail. From purchasing tickets to recommending restaurants. And always very professional and fun at the same time. Giving us tons of history for every place we visited. My husband and I fell in love with Andalusia and a big part was because of Barry! Don’t hesitate to book Your Andalusia Tour Holidays. We highly recommend it for your next visit. We can’t wait to go back and bring friends and family. Thank you Barry!! Mike and Isabel. From USA.

I had never booked an overseas small group your online before so was very wary. I had seen Barry Simpson’s small group tours of Andalusia and couldn’t believe that every review quoted 5/5 stars. However, my husband and I were very reassured by Barry Simpson’s personal and professional thorough communication detailing every aspect of what would be included in the trip and at short notice from me he was able to rearrange our schedule so that we would not miss out on our “ bucket list “ tour of the Alhambra . Barry’s experiences as a guide in Andalusia for more than 10 years ensured that we stayed in very comfortable, individually charming hotels which were ideally located so that all the sightseeing was in comfortable walking distance. His intelligence, love of history and reading on current politics and culture ensured that our conversation was free flowing from the minute he met us to drive to our next destination until he then departed after our walking tour of each town. Barry’s guided tour at each location was an excellent and most enjoyable orientation to Ronda, Seville, Granada and Cordóba and we appreciated enormously his restaurant recommendations and recommendations on how best to see the main sights. Having tickets booked beforehand ensured our time was efficiently spent. As a driver, Barry is safe and very smooth on the roads. I cannot remember him braking suddenly at any time, yet he always got us to each location within a few minutes of his prediction. His warm gentle generous personality coupled with his excellent historical knowledge makes the experience unique because he and his wife plan the tour with a “ what would we like “ mindset and then tailors it to his clients wishes. We had a truly wonderful experience with Barry and will highly recommend “ Barry Simpson-Your Andalusia Tour Holidays “ to any one wanting to tour this most beautiful area of Spain. Thank you Barry and family. 2 grateful Aussies. Judy and Gary
