A tree lined Rambla leading from beyond Plaza Los Luceros to the Parque Canelas. Shops on either side. Veer left by Plaza Calvo Sotelo along the narrow Calle San Francisco for an amble into “Mushroom Street” – lots of bars and restaurants – leading to Plaza Del Elche (novely trees and more bars etc.

A tree lined avenue with lots of bars and restaurants, along with nice boutiques.
I can only imagine in the warm weather that this is the place to be , sipping a glass of wine in the shade of the trees.

Having walked for hours over several days, covering pretty much the whole of Alicante, I found this to be, to my mind, better than the over-hyped Esplanade. Along with the Old Town leading down from the castle and a beautiful park on the outskirts of town this was well worth the visit.

Please do not do yourself the disservice of spending money here. Bought a pair of earrings which both broke within a day one without even being put in. Spoke perfect English a couple of days ago but funnily now none at all. Using a phone to translate her response was "well if you bought a glass and broke it would you expect to bring it back?" - epic terrible customer service. Absolutely appalling. Not even close to the actual issue. Not even an offer to replace let alone refund, then proceeded to just stare at the table in front of her ignoring us until we walked off. Do not spend here it's awful quality and not cheap with absolutely no protection whatsoever. Avoid.

I took a walkabout of Alicante, ended up walking 16km! Came across this street, which has a central walkway down the middle of it, usual palm trees etc, a nice monument to the fallen of the Spanish civil war here too, it goes to Parque Ruiz de Alda, which gives an absolutely spectacular view, worth the march up the 100 or so stone steps up to it, though bring water if you are doing this on a hot day like I did.
I truly recommend this place, as well as Plaza de los Luceros, two of the most stunning places I have seen in this part of Spain!

This is one of the main arteries of the city of Alicante and it goes from the seaside, or Explanada till the Plaza de los Luceros which is the main center of the City. This promenade has a lot of shops along the way and many restaurants and cafeterías.

After a weeks holiday in Benidorm my twin brother Stephen and I rounded off our holiday with a three day stay in Alicante , a great city to explore ,near our hotel is Paseo Federico Soto,a street we walked down a couple of times on our stay here .
Paseo Federico Soto starts at the magnificent Plaza De La Luceros and finishes at the Eleuterio Maissonave Monument ,it's a beautiful tree lined walking area ,the tiling looks amazing ,the old style lamps very cool ,benches along the paseo make for great places to rest up in the sunshine ,on our stay in Alicante temperatures were in the 90's and either side of this paseo are lots of shopping outlets and an amazing assortment of pubs, bars and restaurants ,all in all Paseo Federico Soto is well worth checking out if you're planning on visiting Alicante.

This is a really attractive and relaxing walkway leading from the centre of Alicante up towards the castle. It is a wide walkway with trees and plenty of artwork and water features and is very beautiful as it is simple. It has great views along it's length from the end with the steps up to the castle and is worth spending a time here when the shops and restaurants are open. I believe it also houses the Christmas markets.

This is where the main Christmas market is held - lovely market with lots of different stalls with non aggressive stall holders. You can browse to your hearts content and they are there to help should you need it! Wide street with cafes running along side where you can people watch and again very relaxed atmosphere you are not hurried to finish your drinks - heaven!!
