Although I never attended an event in the wonderful Teatro Principal De Alicante I was suitably impressed with this building to stop and take some photo's.
The Teatro Principal De Alicante ( Main Theatre Of Alicante ) is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most emblematic and characteristic buildings in this city ,constructed in 1845 it was originally called Teatro Nuevo ( New Theatre ) ,built in the Neoclassical style of architecture that's so pleasing on the eye ,the theatre host zarzuelas,concerts ,operas and plays and is an extremely popular social hub ,the theatre is well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Plaza Ruperto Chapi .

Opened in 1847, the Teatro Principal de Alicante is a beautiful historic monument in the center of town. The website is easy to navigate; we purchased our tickets online and there was no problem at the door. If your Spanish is not strong, see a dance or music performance. We saw the Ballet Nacional de España show and it is not to be missed if you happen to be in town when they put on a performance. The seating is intimate, with nary a bad seat in the house. However, do note that sitting in the first two rows limits one's view somewhat of the floor --- this might be important to you if you are a dance aficionado and appreciate seeing the footwork of the dancers.

The building looks very impressive and posh both from the outside and the inside. The seats are not great to sit on but that might just be where I was (in the gods, right on the top floor) I only paid 9 euros or something for my ticket because it had "reduced visibility" which meant some of the lighting poles were a little in my line of sight, but it was ok because I could site up/forward and see fine.
They spoke fast Spanish so it was quite hard to understand but I got the majority of it (I'm studying Spanish here). The show on the whole was quite good and I enjoyed it, I would come back to watch another :) The cast came to the lobby to meet and take photos but I couldn't get close as all the children went to see them as most of the audience were children (it was the Wizard of Oz). The ushers were helpful too.

First visit to this theatre which is medium-sized and quite ornate. Unlike the usual red and gold that we find in UK, the décor was blue and gold and worked well. One idiosyncrasy is that, certainly in the stalls, the odd numbered seats are to the left and the even numbered to the right - so don't worry if you do not appear to have sequential tickets.
We saw Symphonic of Pink Floyd - the 'band' played solidly for about 2hrs and after a short interval returned to play for about another hour. Stunning sets, lighting, screens and musicians, the two lead guitarists and saxophonist must get special mention but all players were quality. The two male and one female singer were strong performers and the two backing singers superb. The finale when the three singers entered the auditorium to continue singing Brick in the Wall with the lights up and the audience singing made for a rip roaring finale. Initially seemed to be expensive at €45 a ticket but a great evening in a super setting,

We purchased tickets for an operetta at this beautiful, mid-nineteenth century theater. It is not too large, and I believe there's not a bad seat in the house. Excellent acoustics, and located in the heart of the city.

I have often walked past this impressive building just off the Ramblas and wondered what the inside was. Quite often, buildings in Spain can be unprepossessing outside but elaborate on the inside.
Well, I was right it was! The inside of the theatre is of high quality with marble staircases, chandeliers and large cleverly positioned mirrors. The auditorium is not exactly over elaborate in the English Frank Matcham style, but, unlike a lot of Matcham theatres is excellently kept with decor of dark blue, white and gold.
The theatre is quite small and intimate and I have to say that the
view from the balcony was;t exactly magnificent!
I went here to watch the Russian ballet perform Swan Lake and sadly there was no orchestra and the audio presentation was either not turned up to 11 or the acoustics were not good in the balcony - I suspect the former.
The theatre was also very hot with the disconcerting presence of half the audience waving their programmes as fans.
Well worth a visit for an intimate theatrical experience and for the magnificent interior.

I had a rather extended walkabout of this fine city, and stumbled upon this fine looking columned theatre , It's a one of the smaller Plazas at this end of town, though dominates it as the finest building, most impressive, definitely a stop on your look around Alicante.

This was our first time to this theatre and it did not dissapoint.Lovely outer neo classical facades and upon entering the theatre,it too was beautiful.A huge chandellier hangs centrally from the high ceiling,giving a lovely old fashioned quality to the surroundings.We were seated up high,but had magnificent veiws of the stage,the acoustics were fantastic.(we watched a magnificent performance of the opera,madam butterfly)We have already booked tickets for swan lake in january,and I for one cannot wait.

Stumbled across this theatre whilst walking around the city looking at the Hogueras figures. The theatre building is quite impressive with large columns at the front of the building, our friends, who were with us at the time, have been in the theatre and they told us that it is also impressive in the theatre auditorium.

Very fun and hilarious time seeing this show ~ and I don't even speak Spanish. For about $50 Canadian we had great seats. Beautiful theatre and a very worthwhile visit. TIP: If you plan on buying your tickets at the theatre before the show the place to go is on the left hand side of the building and it's a ways down.

Me podrían informar si desde la fila cinco del patio de butacas, en los asientos 13 y 15 se ve bien?
Hola. hay buen accesibilidad para una persona con silla de ruedas???Aunque se puede sentar en la butaca del pasillo con andador y plegar la silla.!!!!podría ser??? Que butaca comprar en esta circunstancia???
Hi. I have booked online to attend a show this evening. I have some kind of a pdf showing my booking but i wondered do i need to print out a ticket before i go or just show this electronic ticket/ confirmation at the door? I tried phoning the theatre but got no answer

We booked a ticket the same way and our names appeared on their list without a problem. Still, to be safe, it would be good for you to have it on your phone to show them, just in case. Have fun!

Hola de la fila 3 o 4 butacas que estén en el centro es la mejor fila para mi gusto. No tienes que tener el cuello levantado y se ve fenomenal
