When I think in an Mediterranean old town I imagine something like this, such a beautiful district I hope this will survive to the tourist and the gentrification.

Loved everything about this sweet place. Comfy, cute and cozy in the best neighborhood in Alicante! At the base of the castle and close to Old Town, The Barrio and dining etc! % minute walk to Metro etc... Just great!! We didn't want to leave!!

Pretty village houses on route to Santa Barbera Castle in the centre of Alicante. The walk through the village is steep so wear flat shoes but worth the visit

The most interesting part of Alicante with many narrow streets, numerous interesting buildings, museums, some churches and cafes and resteraunts and squares. Would have liked to have a guide (printed or human) to provide background information on buildings/sites of particular interest.

Took a detour to see this collection of pretty tiled houses below the castle. Wandered around the quiet lanes looking at the interesting fronts to the houses there.

Fantastic place to see. Lots of wee narrow lanes, steep climbs, beautiful houses and lovely wall art. If you have mobility issues, then the steps and steepness would be an issue, but if you can visit then do - you won't regret it !

There are plenty of hotels in Alicante in 5 minutes walk from the district. You can easily get from airport to the center of Alicante by taxi (10-15 minutes and around 20 euro) or by bus C-6 (20-25 minutes and 3.80 euros).
