I recommend taking Barrio Santa Cruz on the way down from the castle - this way you get the "Alicante package" at once ;) Narrow streets, all colorful and almost more than authentic. There are a few spots where you can sit on a bench...More

It is like a separate village located within the city. A short walk from the city centre takes you to this old quarter. A maze of narrow alleyways lined with small colourful cottages displaying plants and small artifacts outside. If you carry on uphill you...More

Winding, narrow streets will lead you uphill from Alicante Centre to the Barrio Santa Cruz. Charming, colourful houses and plenty of restaurants to satisfy every food lover.

Google maps gives kind of a wrong pin to this place. But do not give up , it is a very authentic nice neighbourhood. The best is to go there on a sunny day - you will get very nice pictures.

The old town of Alicante, with multicoloured houses crammed together in a rabbits warren of streets. Lots of photo opportunities around every corner.

There are plenty of hotels in Alicante in 5 minutes walk from the district. You can easily get from airport to the center of Alicante by taxi (10-15 minutes and around 20 euro) or by bus C-6 (20-25 minutes and 3.80 euros).
