I booked this attraction before I left home, a process that was really easy and I was able to pay by Paypal. On the day we made our way into Benidorm by Tram and Jochen met us and drove us to the Ranch. He and Tanja were lovely and after a nice cold drink we were kitted out with hard hats and taken through our paces in the paddock. This experience was my husband's birthday present and he was not disappointed. He took to his horse, Orlando, really well but I was rather nervous and it showed. Tanja advised us that Anna should come with us and she led my horse Socks on a lead. I was so grateful because I was not confident on horse back. The trail was beautiful, peaceful and the scent from the lemon groves was something else. When we got back Jochen had been busy on the barbeque and we had lunch of Spanish sausages, grilled vegetables and a nice cold beer. We could have sat there all day. When it was time to go, Jochen gave us the choice of going back to the Tram station or down to Benidorm. We chose Benidorm and spent the rest of the day there. I would really recommend this day out.

I went here with my girlfriend as a surprise for her birthday, and I was not disappointed. We struggled a little to find the way, but when we first found the way out of the little city in the mountains, there were signs in every cross. Follow the gps coordinates with an updated gps and you should be fine. The roads are bumpy and narrow for the last kilometer, but we made it all the way in our Audi A1 with no problems, so any car should be able to make it.
When first arriving we were welcomed by the dogs, (really nice dogs), just before Jochen came over to welcome us himself. We arrived a little early, so he made some coffe and cold drinks for us while they prepared the horses. When the horses were ready we were taken to the training area to learn the basics. I myself have usually been a little afraid of horses, but the way we aproached this there was no problems. I jumped onto the horse, received a few, easily memorable, instructions and I was ready to control a beautiful horse with relative ease.
I am very happy that they don't take big groups, as I can imagine that it would be kaos. 2-4 people works very well, and you can have the attencion needed to feel safe and comfortable.
The beginners round was beautiful, and when we got back the luch was ready, and served in a few minutes. The food was delicious by the way.
I believe they are living their dream on this ranch, being truly happy to have people coming around to see it. I rarely feel as welcome we both did when arriving, and they just kept on impressing.
If horseback riding is something you consider, do not hesitate to try at this place. One of my best experiences ever.

We took our kids, 3 and 5 to the stables during our trip to Altea in July last year. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They allowed the children to brush the horses and help tack them up before the ride. The horses and ponies were all in superb condition and the kids were taken on a hack for well over the hour we paid for and we were allowed to walk with them through some beautiful countryside. The ponies were perfect for little kids and they felt very safe throughout the ride. Our kids say this was the highlight of our holiday and we are looking forward to a return visit or two during our next trip later this month. I did try to write a review last year but tripadvisor was having problems. I would recommend this stable to riders of all levels, a truly wonderful day out. Thank you, The McCreery Family.

After being collected from our hotel, we set off for the journey to the Ranch. Jochen seemed pleasant enough, but his partner was the exact opposite. Setting is pleasant and looked a nice set up. However, my partner and her daughter were shown to their horses and were left to be taken on the hack by a young girl who never took her head off the mobile phone she was constantly texting off. After a few minutes it was obvious the horse our daughter was on was not in the mood to hack and was playing up, was far too over-excited in our daughters opinion ( many trophies and medals to her credit) I might add ! So they returned back to the yard for an obvious replacement, as they did say they had 15 other horses. On return to the yard, the young girl was asked if the horse was playing up and she replied "No", which seemed odd as her eyes never averted from her mobile phone. No horse was offered as a replacement and they informed my daughter she would have to sit it out while my partner could go on the hack alone !! Seeing as her daughter was beginning to get upset, my partner gave her the horse she was riding, thus having to sit there like a lemon for 2 hours on her own, knowing she was being charged nearly 50 euros for the privilage, At the end, they took the money for both of them riding, even though 1 did not go and was not offered another horse as a replacement. Was a total waste of money and even the spanish locals were disgusted and the excursion organisers said book one through an agent so this does not happen to you. The total including hotel pick up was 116 euros for 1 to ride, 1 to sit round waiting !

We we're taken out on the Guadalest Valley Hack by two German women. One was the owner Tanya and the other was a young girl learning the route. From start to finish it appeared to feel rushed and both of them seemed uninterested in taking us out on the hack, this became clear when both girls continued to talk in German for most of the journey! Neither of us felt comfortable on the horses and this was dismissed by the owner who simply jumped on her horse, without a riding helmet and started the hack. One of the horses we were given to ride felt like it was going to buckle and couldn't be bothered walking. Not only did it keep scraping its feet along the ground, it was stumbling on the rocks that were on the concrete paths, the other horse wanted to stop and eat ALL the time! The countryside isn't that amazing for the price you pay and it is a very expensive experience just to walk along on tired out horses listening to the waffling of two bored German women.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our hack. Having not ridden before, we were given a great introduction on horse riding and our saddles were adjusted to suit. The hack took us along comfortable tracks through citrus groves at a very liesurely pace so we could enjoy the lovely scenery. As we had no transport we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Thanks for a wonderful day out.
Mark and Lesley.....we will return.

Tanja and her team did an amazing job of making our ride really enjoyable, even though between the three of us she had a complete beginner, someone who hadn't ridden for at least 15 years, and someone who used to compete but has some physical disabilities - she assessed us all very quickly and chose the perfect horses for each of us and we had a great time! Her horses were lovely, they're patient and well cared for, and the scenery around Tanja's stables is beautiful. Thanks again, Tanja!

I had escorted my elderly father to Benidorm for the winter, sadly he was taken into hospital shortly after arrival. My saving grace was to find Rancho La Ofra where I was able to relax and forget my worries doing what I love the most, horse riding.
The stable stuated in the most beautiful surroundings, mountains and streams, perfect for hacking. First class horses and tack for all level of riders, as an experienced rider I was thrilled to be riding one of Tanja's own horses, an absolute joy.
The standard of the stables is very high with extemely well bred, superbly schooled horses. I have riden all over the world when on holiday, Rancho La Ofra is my favourite by far.
I was looking forward to returning in March when I was to collect my father. Excited to have both lessons and long hacks. Due to bad health my father had to come home early. I am dissapointed not to be going back but if I get the chance I would visit Benidorm just for this experience alone.Tanja and Anna could not have made me any more welcome, even collecting me from my hotel, such lovely people.
The most wonderful way to experience 'real' Spain, relax and enjoy good company.
Thank you very much.

Arranged a pick up from benidorm tram station, which went perfectly, about a 45 minute drive and we were on the ranch, greeted by the very friendly dogs. After a short training session, we were novices, we were off into the beautiful back lanes. Scenery was beautiful, as a gift for my mother's birthday it was perfect. After the hack, a tapas lunch was served, delicious. This ranch tailors to all abilities, and was a perfect day out for us, highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I booked a private horse riding excursion at Rancho La Ofta this May and we thruly had the time of our life. Really friendly people, great horses, fantastic atmosphere. The 2-hour ride into the surrounding nature was both ashtonishing and adventurous, and the barbeque-cooked lunch that was waiting for us back at the ranch delicious. We will definitely come back here soon! Thanks Tanja and Jochen for a great day! :-) - Roel and Liene
