In the old part of town in an early 19th century house. I didn't expect much but was really impressed by the quality of the Nativity Scenes on display. At times , I felt I was being transported into the very heart of Bethlehem or fleeing to Egypt myself....... Well worth a visit ! Also good to know that the... More

The incredible talent and skill of the crafters who made the museum possible was amazing. The displays were all so intricate they brought not just the nativity scenes but also bible stories almost to life! Moses in the bulrushes was tremendous.

I expected a dusty little display of some really naff nativity scenes - what we got was a wonderfully enlightening tour of the Bible stories associated with the birth of Jesus. Little tableaus illustrated in such detailed perfection - of artistry - not necessarily historically accuracy -the well known and less well known aspects of the biblical story. Each figure... More

Just around the corner from San Nicolas Cathedral in Alicante Old Town, (c/San Agustin nº 3) this small, but free, museum is a hidden gem! Features many Nativity scenes in 3d which are beautifully crafted and really special to look at. The curator is friendly and gives information to anyone who asks - well worth a visit when you are... If you know your stories from the religious works you will have more interest, great detail by the various artists. Around the corner from the Cathedral, small footprint on street, 3 or 4 rooms.

Spent a long time looking for it. Would be very helpful if this information was available for everyone. The notice on the door gave no information when it closed, or when it would reopen. None of the people who helped me find it knew ot was closed.

This museum features the typical Belen or Creche which adorns nearly all households in Spain during the Christmas Season. You can admire the small statues of religious content and the idealization of the times when Christ was born.

We loved this museum, it is unusual and thought provoking. Small but very nicely laid out and lit. An amazing array of different styles of nativity. We loved looking at all the models of characters and animals, and at the really atmospheric scenery.
