This old church is breathtaking when you go inside, it's ornate stonework and displays take you by surprise, it's a must see when in Alicante

If not beach weather worth a stroll through the old town and end up at the church where there a little bar / restaurant on the plaza opposite the church. Sometimes in the early evening there is live music on the plaza also adjacent to the large art gallery / museum.

Another church built on the ruins of a mosque is St. Maria. Dating back to the 14th century, it has a single nave and side chapels. The church has two towers and an image of the Virgin Mary is above the doorway. Our guide said the reason why St. Maria’s was not chosen as the bishop’s church is because the... More

Pretty little church, located on the Plaza. Away from the busy main road and the start of the old town. A good place to have a drink or tapas before wandering through the busier area.

If you are looking for a little peacefulness in the middle of your hectic vacation, this is a good place to stop. The architecture on the outside is simple, but inside you have beautiful paintings, stained-glass, and architecture. Stop in relax and breathe in it's peace.

Attended a lovely service in Spanish on Sunday morning. Was very thankful for the fans throughout the Church as it was very warm.

Stunning architecture and atmosphere both outside in the beautiful square, one of my favourite places in Alicante, and inside. I love to come and sit there for a while and to watch people even during a mass even though I'm not religious. But it's lovely.

Beside a nice little all brick plaza, there is a coffee shop, is a pretty church, rebuilt, started as a mosque [that's the seaward side of the building as you face it.] Co-cathedral with S. Nicholas, that's another story, worth the visit even if it wasn't down hill from our apartment overlooking the beach. From Plaza del Mar up hill,... More
