Beautiful castle with fantastic views over all of Alicante, definately worth the visit. The lift up to the top was out of service, there are a few parking spaces at the top, if not there are two small car parks before the main entrance.

Very cheap to go up in the lift, a couple euros each! Had the most amazing views! We had lunch in the cafe which again had lovely views but thought the food wasn't very good, we ordered pizza which did not look appetising at all...More

Visited here on a cloudy day around noontime. View from the top of the castle was worth the very steep climb up to the top. Different levels of the castle's top gives you many angles of the city view.

Stunning views from the top over alicante and surrounding area. A bit of a walk up a steep hill but it's worth the views on the way. There is a bus for those that don't fancy the walk and supposedly a lift but that was...More

Fantastic views, well worth the hike. Take a leisurely stroll down into the old town and its quirky little streets.

The Castille Santa Barbara has a commanding view over the port city of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. It is a well preserved Moorish Castle that is well worth a visit. We opted to visit via the 200m tunnel from behind El Postiguet Beach and...More

This was our best stop when we took the HOHO Turibus to visit Alicante . The views over the city are great and the Castle is quite interesting ! Getting there on the twisty road was really fun !

A super trip to the castle, lift was not working but a free shuttle bus was put on to get people to the top. This has some fantastic views of the area, well worth the trip clean and well looked after.

The castle of Santa Barbara is breathtaking. The gradual journey to the top of the castle had captivating views, the castle had many levels offering new views. I must not forget to mention the castle cat, he is very charming. There are places you can...More

Great fun from the long tunnel to the lift 2.75€, To the highest point in Alicante. Spectacular views and steeped in very interesting history. Nice little cafe at the top if you get thirsty. A 'must-Do' when visiting Alicante. 😌

There is no entry fee. You can walk up a path or you can pay to take an elevator that is accessible from the street level across fom Postiguet beach.

The walk takes about 45 minutes (normal pace). The lift is only 2.7 euro but is free if one is 65 or over and can show ID.

While there are steps to some areas even going to the top & looking around is worth it. Just ask at the bottom as the lift can take you all the way up then it makes it easier coming down.
