Hidden gem outside of Benidorm
Aug 2021 • Couples
This tiny village is worth a stop if you’re in the area. Its about 30 minutes from benidorm and Villajoyosa. Perfect for a half-day trip. It sits perched in between a valley on some high up cliffs and although there aren’t many activities other than some museums, it’s a great place to walk around, shop for some cute souvenirs and have lunch. The views of the village and the reservoir are beautiful. The restaurants are well priced and the parking is cheap as well (municipal €2). Many of the residence speak both English and Spanish. Very steep and narrow cobbled streets that probably aren’t ideal for wheelchairs or high heals.

Beautiful place!
Jul 2021
One of the most fascinating places in the Alicante province with breathtaking views!
Totally woth a one day trip.
The road to Gaudalest worth to be mentioned as well. It is a beautiful mountain road with scenic views. So, if you have a motorcycle, convertible car (we got a Mazda MX-5) or any other interesting vehicle, the road to Guadalest will be something you will remember.

Amazing place
Jul 2021
Amazing place, very beautiful. There is an old castle with wonderful views of the whole valley. There are also several museums and many small shops. Getting here is difficult, on quite steep roads, but it's worth the effort.

Pretty hilltop village

I travelled from Alicante. Get line 1 to Benidorm tram stop - I think you could get the 841 from mercado. The bus stop is right outside the tram stop - just to the right. It doesn’t mention bus 16 but it showed up about 10.10am. Bus ticket just under 7 euros return. Guadalest is a pretty village - a bit touristy with lots of tourist shops . If you pay 4 euros to go into the castle bit you get the best view of the white bell tower. Bus leaves at 1.30pm from the car park where it dropped you off. 2 hours is more than enough time there.
