This small, picturesque town on the banks of the Tambre River is part of a network of villages known as the most beautiful in Spain. It is charming, made more captivating by the morning fog that was just lifting. An added bonus: a group of women entertained us with dancing (it appeared they were being filmed, not sure for what). A 12th century bridge, built on the pillars of a previous Roman bridge, is well-traveled by pilgrims walking the Camino Marítimo to Finisterre. A beautiful legend says that disciples of Saint James escaped across this bridge just before it collapsed on their Roman pursuers. I visited with Tour Galicia.

What a beautiful place this village is. Fabulous setting with the bridge, the river and the old and restored buildings. I am returning in early April when walking on the Camino to Finisterre because my last visit was so enjoyable.

Beautiful Scenery and fresh air. The village is very very small but so picturesque! Differently worth a walk around.

This bridge is a must-see in the area, and is quite possibly one of the most stunning Roman bridges still in existence. This, coupled with the amazing condition that the bridge somehow remains in, helped to make this one of the most extraordinary experiences in the area. The town too is very beautiful, and is worth a small walk after one has seen the bridge. Overall, this is an incredible attraction in Galicia, and no visit is really complete without.

This bridge is on the Camino. It has wonderful Views. People were swimming in the water having fun. The bridge is an old Roman type that has been worked on over the years. If you are in the area take a look.

We got really early around 1000 and the place we had to ourselves. The area is just amazing and the Roman architecture is some the best I have ever seen. The bridge is just stunning. Parking is also available free of charge.

This may be the most beautiful town on the entire Camino. It's idyllic with the old Roman bridge, watermills, damn, trout-filled river - it has everything that makes great photos.

Passed through here on the Camino and enjoyed a coffee at the bar there. Stunning architecture and amazing craftsmanship that have survived centuries.

What a beautiful little town! Wish I could live there. Prettiest place on the 900 kilometer Camino--took me 30 days of walking to get there from SJPDP, France
