Lovely visit and very interesting
Oct 2019 • Couples
Spent a couple of hours here after doing the chocolate experience earlier in the day.

Lovely vineyard set in the hills - stunning views to Montserrat and an excellent and very informative tour guide.

He was very informative about the older vines and the new organic vines they are growing and in the cave below the building the stacking and bottling system has to be seen to be believed.

At the end the tasting was served with a few nibbles and was not restricted to just a small glass of each - very impressive all round and well worth a visit if you are close by.

Highly recommended

Favorite part of my trip!
Sep 2018 • Friends
In advance of a recent trip to Barcelona, I wanted to plan a stop at a local Cava vineyard on our way back from a visit to Montserrat. I contacted a few different vineyards in the Penedés region hoping for an afternoon tour. Georgina Saumell Esteve from Vilarnau responded, notifying me that we would miss the last English tour of the day, but they would be happy to have us come after the tours, around 5:00 (17:00) for a tasting with light appetizers.

As the day arrived, we ended up leaving Montserrat earlier than expected. We even contemplated not staying until 5:00 for the tasting and heading back to the city early. I am SO happy we didn't. As soon as we pulled up the driveway, lined with tall cypress trees, I knew we made the right decision. The estate is beautifully modern with views to all the surrounding vineyards. Georgina met us in the entry and gave us a brief history of the region and Vilarnau before leading us out to a covered terrace. She proceed to explain each of the 3 wines/cavas she selected for us, then left us to enjoy on our own.

The wines she picked were perfect, and the appetizers hit the spot (small sausages, parmesan cheese, and small bread/crackers). We chatted, drank, ate and took in the moment, at one point realizing we were at a beautiful vineyard, in Spain, by ourselves, on the most perfect day.

Georgina was so knowledgeable and sweet! She made my entire trip by offering us this opportunity. Our group ended up buying a few bottles of the wines we tried and drank them later that night. It was such an incredible experience, I would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you Vilarnau!

Fantastic morning at the vineyard for Hen party
May 2018 • Friends
What a fantastic morning! We visited Vilarnau on the first morning of a hen party I organised last week and it was everything and more that we hoped.
After lots of emails with Georgina, she couldn't have been more helpful and brilliant in arranging the morning - including a taxi from Barcelona city.
As well as being really interesting and educational, the vineyard and cellar are set in beautiful grounds and Georgina made the visit so much fun.
It was the absolute highlight of the trip, as it was a surprise for the hen - could not recommend it enough!!

Superb vineyard experience
Oct 2017 • Couples
We visited this vineyard as they are a supplier used by my wife's work and boy were we in for a treat. Having had their brut as our wedding toast drink it was lovely to be able to see where it was produced and meet the staff.
I really don't know where to start with the tour as it was so good. We began by meeting our guide Georgina who spoke superb English and was funny and informative and by the end of the day was like an old friend.
Outside we had a few bubbles and a glass or two of pink fizz before walking the vines and looking at the different varieties. We then headed round to the lake and then to the centre of production and then into the cellars themselves to see the wines in the maturing stage. All the time we were talked through what was happening and why.
Once we had seen all the production stages we visited the corking and labelling room which was fascinating.
Following all this we went outside to an amazing lunch and tasted 4 more of the vineyards products.
As a group of 4 we couldn't have been better looked after and I can't speak highly enough of the passion, dedication and quality that Vilarnau represents The staff are all wonderful and couldn't have made us more welcome. I'd give them 6/5 if I could. Well worth a visit.

Best winery tour experience I've had!
Jun 2017 • Friends
Our group of four all agreed that we have never had a tour of any winery around the world that compared to the tour Vilarnau provided to us. Their in-depth display of their Cava production processes and the humour and tastings that followed were unforgettable! Not to mention we had the entire winery, including the cellars, to ourselves for the duration of our afternoon visit. Highly recommended! Thank-you, again, for the incredible experience!

Great visit
Apr 2016 • Family
I took my mother, brother, cousin and son of 6 to this winery, which I knew through a mutual business partner. I work in the wine business, so I have been on quite a few winery tours.
Georgina was the sweetest guide, and we saw a lot. The winery has started conversion to become organic, which is a plus. We had a great tasting and a private lunch outside, next to the vineyards with lovely tapas dishes.
All and all, loved it.

Excellent visit and tasting in a beautiful setting
Feb 2016 • Business
My group from Montpellier, France was wonderfully received for a visit and tasting of this beautiful winery that's focused on wine tourism. Great hands-on explanations of all aspects of making cava, from vineyard to cellar to bottle. Beautiful and picturesque facilities and views at the environmentally-conscious estate. An excellent tasting with delicious Spanish tapas featured several brut nature wines, making an interesting and informative comparison between them all. Wonderful welcome and service, excellent English and French spoken, and all-around fabulous experience.
They also have special visits for children, specifically adapted to their interests separate from parents.
Thank you again! Highly recommended!

Very nice
Feb 2016 • Couples
Came with a cruise ship tour group. Guide was very good, lots of information provided. Her English was great which is a bonus.
The Cava wine also tasted amazing, would have been nice to sample some of the others as we only got to try one. Worth a visit though.

Thank you so much for your opinion We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in another occasion in order to taste other cavas! Maybe in September? September is the harvesting time and we can give grape juice (must) to taste as well as our cavas. All the best! Vilarnau Team
