Spent 5 days here 1 block off the beach
Came here this half way through our travels through the south of Spain…. needed a place to chill for awhile
Plus a short Uber drive to Valencia
Wonderful beach and very long promenade to walk from marina to the end of the beach
Too many restaurants and bars to count not only on the beach but a block off it

Please be aware that for summer 2024 due to a dispute there are no chiringuitos on patacona beach So no sun beds and no umbrellas
Had we known this we would have chosen to stay at a different beach

Normal beach, not very pretty. Water very calm with no waves. Too crowded in summer and too noisy. Lots of restaurants nearby

This is a great beach in Valencia. The water is a perfect temp and the public facilities (including showers) are helpful at the end of a long beach day.

We've been staying just couple of steps from the beach, so it was a natural choice for us to visit. However we've tried as well the Malvarossa beach and I do prefer the Playa de la Patacona over it big time. The beach is quite wide, offering variety of sports activities (fitness stuff, volleyball courts etc), clean sand, gradual entry to the sea. Kids loved it.
Temperature of the water and the waves can be quite different day to day depending whether the winds are blowing from the sea or land.

Located a little bit further than Valencia's main beach, The Malva-rosa, Patacona is well worth the trip. It's less crowded, cleaner and much more peaceful - and the most important thing is that there are barely any port views from Patacona. Come and enjoy!

Stayed in an Airbnb that was right in this beach.

It is clean, safe, gently shelving sand, and a few beach bars.

Felt safe to walk along from the rocks to a place where an inland river / canal came out to the sea.

Great beach, it is much quieter than the adjacent beach. It has recently had a make over with a number of beach bars along it length, we tried a few of them and found them all to be very friendly with good drinks, sun beds and beach umbrellas. The further you walk down the beach the cheaper they are.

No rush, not crowded and clean playa. We had a great time here. Our daughter (4y) ran around and we had control all the way.

Valencia has lots of options for "beach days" but by far our favorite is this location. Situated north Malvarossa, its less touristic and quite expansive. Lots of space to relax under the sun. The beach is very clean and lots of services around.

We are not a fan of the hyper tourist beaches where safety and thieves are rampant. It's very family friendly and lots of services.

Parking can be challenging so go early. I'm not sure how accesible the beach is by public transport but it's definitely well worth it.
