There is a comfortable esplanade in the middle of Napoli gulf and Castellammare di Stabia gulf. You can feel the sea on your skin, its scent... and you have to manage that under a blue sky and whit a breathtaking sight (Vesuvio, Capri island, Punta Campanella, Ischia, Procida,Naples). If you have to go with children and you need to pick up stroller, this could be a little difficult because the elevator installed sometime is out of service. You may achieve the top of the quay of the port (where you can have your beautiful walk) by stairs or elevator, in fact. I suggest to have a walk early in the morning (I like jogging i.e.) or at sunset/sunrise hours. Enjoy!

Torre Del Greco is a stop on the train that comes south from Napoli, (Naples). The town is at the gateway to the Amalfi coast. If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, stay while you visit Pompeii or Vesuvius, and taken in the sites of Sorrento, without the crowds, this is a good choice. If you are looking for upscale amenities, this is not your place. We chose to stay up the hill, about 2 miles out of the main part of town. It is quieter here, but if you like to walk, it really is an easy walk downhill and back up hill. We walked down to the port in 30 minutes and back up in 40 min. If you are looking for entertainment, night life, beaches, keep heading south. This is a working town, with friendly people, but not much in the way for tourist amenities. We loved talking to the fisherman, walking through town, enjoying the breeze from our hotel patio. It almost forces you to slow down and rest, which is what we very much needed.
