This was our second time floating the Illinois River. Took our dog Willow for the first time. The campground was great! Easy access to the river too! Bathrooms are nice and air conditioned. Store has a lot to offer and the help is really nice. We’ll be back!

We can only rate the float trip as that is all we did, but super friendly staff, seemed family owned and it felt comfortable. Store was very, clean, nice and had everything we needed. We stopped into a few other river outfitters to check them out and decided on Peyton’s Place due to their friendly helpful nature. Price was about the same as everyone else. We were glad to have chosen them, would do it again!!

I try to go on a float trip once a year minimum. This year I decided to try something new (mostly because our usual outfitter 'Riverside Resorts' was booked on their rafts). We chose Peyton's Place because they did have plenty of rafts. We show up and decide to pick a camping spot. They are ALL gravel!!!! Ugh.We always primitive camp and let me tell you that sleeping on gravel is not great! The float trip was good but the part of the river is not as good as other outfitters I have utilized in the past. The store there is great, not over priced and they carry anything you might possibly need for camping or floating. The customer service was pretty good. Overall, we had a great weekend but won't be going back due to the cramped gravel camp grounds.

We LOVED every second we were here! We have been coming to Peyton's Place for years, 15 in fact! My mother was born & raised in Tahlequah and I've been coming here for 60+ years! Our stay at Peyton's Place is always a memorable experience. The A-frames are great however, we've moved to the log cabin. My family enjoy the times we spend here, playing games, floating, having meals together, appreciating each other! No television thank heaven! But the scenery and the river is ALL you need! It gives us a chance to unwind, unplug & enjoy the beauty of the Creator! To those who nitpick about accommodations I say, stay in your hectic, noisey city!
The accommodations are clean and welcoming! We get the chance to enjoy each other as a family & friends, what more can you ask for!
Staff is EXCEPTIONAL and I plan to return as long as I can!

Horrible customer service.
Was told we can get a full refund for a raft since half our party canceled . Then we got there and they refused to give us a full refund because they gave us bigger rafts than we wanted, which is on them and we weren't told about this until we asked about the refund .
They changed our child as an adult price, which again they did not tell us nor does it state on the rates pages at what age they do that.

We go every year and Peyton's Place can't be beat! Great price and great people. This is a THIRD generation family-owned business. They truly care about the river and take care of it.

My family goes to float the river every summer. This was the first year my husband and I decided to join. Instead of 'roughing it', we decided to get a 1 bedroom cabin to have air conditioning, a bed and our own shower. The cabin was very dated with a futon in the living room that was held up in the middle with a makeshift leg. It looked stained and dirty, and we refused use it. The bed frame was a little big for the mattress, and the small amount of space between the frame & mattress was very dirty. There were several dead bugs in that part of the bed. The comforter was also stained when we pulled it back. There were spider webs in the windows, and a lot of dead bugs in the window sills. Another person in our group also reserved one of these cabins, and they had the same complaints about their cabin. If we come back, we plan on just renting an electric site and roughing it in a tent. We paid a lot more than we should have for the cabin, considering the how dirty everything was.

Do not stay in the A-Frame cabins!!! We rented 3 of the A-Frame cabins for $105.00 a day for 2 days, to the tune of $630.00, all 3 cabins were filthy, They all had strong moldy wet smells and our cabin #3 had a definite propane leak coming from the stove. The air conditioner was caked with dirt, the futons in the living room area in all three units were stained and discussing. No way I would even set my shoes on those nasty pieces of furniture. The coffee pot had molded coffee grounds left in it. Worst place I’ve ever stayed, definitely not worth the $105.00 a night we paid. These A-Frames need to be torn down, they all have extensive water damage, and they are discussing. This place obviously makes a lot of money due to all the river traffic, and the RV and tent camping they have, they really need to invest in improving their accommodation or just do away with them entirely, Their A-Frame cabins are not fit to stay in. We will NEVER go here again.
