This shrine established at the same time when "MUSASHI" local nation established in the area in the middle of 7th century. Anyone visiting here can feel real shinto culture which is the root of Japanese people.

A very beautiful Shinto temple set in the town's park. Impressive, towering stone gates on various corners of the park. Very tranquil and inviting. Very close to the train station if you come from Tokyo proper.

It is not usual famous shrine,like Asakusa.So If you will go there,you will not see any Gaijin.I mean you can touch Jpanese local mind! They must be super shy,but safe and kind! This is very very old shrine. Before Tokyo,you know Edo,and before Edo there area called Musashi-country. This shrine is for Musashi-country.You can get there by Keio-line Fuchu station,from... A bit out of the way in Fuchu, Okunitama Shrine is a nice distraction when visiting the area. It has a beautiful main shrine building and you can buy blessings at a small shrine shop.
