Try out the flea market for a taste of how the locals live. Even if you don’t buy anything you will get to mee5 a few locals. Most stalls sell second hand clothing not antiquities.

I took Chuo line from Kokubunji to Kichijoji station. There are so many nice shops and cafe in the walking distance from the station. It would be a nice walk for tourists who wanna see local Japanese fashion. The same area also has Uniqlo, Tokyo and shopping street just like other business area in Japan. I am sure they have more attractions but I have no time to see all.
