Nice park for a picnic or just to walk around to get some exercise. The park is wide open with plenty of space

The best time to visit Tachikawa park is around April to May. The park is so big with particular view and plenty of beautiful kind of flowers. Nishi Tachikawa station is nearer station to access the park.

This park has a lot to offer. It is huge and offers plenty of beautiful gardens. We saw the fireworks display and it was top notch with over 3000,000 attendees

Visited to see the Cherry blossoms and the visit did not disappoint with our timing in mid April. Cherry blossoms at their peak!

A friend of mine lives right along the Negawa River and since the sakura trees were in full bloom we took a stroll. I've been to several parks for hanami but I was simply blown away by the sight of the trees along the river. If you follow the road it leads up to a baseball stadium and a grassy hillside where people can sit and have a picnic (or a nap).

The park is really set up for blossom time (late March till mid April) and we were there in early February when all the blossom trees were bare.

The park is big (163 hectares) and it was beautiful to walk around with fountains, lakes, restaurants, bbq areas etc all around. It would be stunning in Spring/Summer when the little trains and boat rides would be operating.

There were still plenty of people in the park, its set up so each feature flows into the next but isn't visible to the others and there is the usual amazing Japanese attention to detail in everything from the tree pruning to the restroom availablity.
