Parents with small children should take note that there are no restraints or safety belts of any sort, unlike chair lifts in other countries. After you sit on the shallow seat, there is nothing to stop a child slipping off, from quite a height into the forest below. The view is, of course, breathtaking, but we will be taking the cable car next time!

Fun way to descend Mt Takao. Cheap and much easier on the knees, plus you get stunning views. Just don't fall out 😂

Going up Mt. Takao, best to take chairlift. Biggest challenge is not the ride, but the staircase climb to the chairlift station. Ride is safe, secured, fun and affords u panoramic view versus crowded train. Halfway up, Smile at the photographer and purchase photo once up there. Not expensive.

There were too many people on a saturday. We had to wait for 40 mins just to take the tram up the mountain and another 30 mins to get down later. Pls check before you go.

The lines for the cable car were too long so we took the chair lift both ways. The view coming down was awesome. Getting on and off is easy and lots of help is provided. Much better than walking.
