Had a really fun visit to the Winery, enthusiastically led by Charlotte, who is passionate and knowledgeable.
Toured the cellar, got great information, and tasted their awesome wines and locally sourced cheese and produce.
I highly recommend a visit if you are in the Loire Valley.

My husband arranged a tasting and tour here during our brief trip to the Loire Valley. It's an extremely convenient drive from Tours. The owner is a 5th generation wine maker, and leads tastings in English as well we French. He was extremely charming, knowledgable, and accommodating. The wines are delightful, and having him as a guide really added to the experience and taught us quite a bit about the historical context impacting different types and varietals of wine. Would certainly recommend!

We had an amazing visit to Chateau Gaudrelle and the tasting of all the Vouvray was spectacular. Our guide, Laetitia, was incredibly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend a tour and tasting. We are enjoying the wine that we purchased and brought back with us the the US.

The location is easy to find with good on site parking. Staff were extremely helpful and the young lady who guided us was nervous as this was her first tour in English. She did a great job. The tasting was suited to us personally as we were a group of just my wife and I. We were treated royally and not rushed but the best was the quality of each wine. We have done other tours and were surprised that all varieties including both sparkling and still wines were the best we had tasted in the region. Highly recommend a visit.

There are many, many wineries one can visit as you drive in the vicinity of Tours, Vouvray and Amboise. Chateau Gaudrelle ranks as one of the best small family owned and operated wineries I've ever visited. Charles Morand is a splendid host who speaks fluent English. The 20 minute wine tour is quite interesting. We tasted all of the offerings afterwards and bought several bottles, not out of obligation, but because these wines are splendid!

If you happen to be visiting the region, make a call in advance and arrange an appointment to visit. You won't be disappointed.

If you're in Vouvray, you must visit the winery at Chateau Gaudrelle in Rochecorbon (the next town over). Their Vouvrays run the gamut from sparkling brut to dessert wine sweet and they are ALL just wonderful. Our congenial host Charles spoke perfect English (that he learned playing rugby in New Zealand) and gave us a quick tour of their cellars. BEST OF ALL they'll ship a case of wine to the U.S. for a mere 50 euros (that's real cheap) and it arrives in less than a week. I can't recommend this winery enough.

checked out previous reviewes and the Chateau has produced wines which have won awards.good knowledable staff Bit puzzled when lady serving was reluctant to open new bottle of demi-sec sparkling wine when we wanted a sip to taste as it could have been used for other customers who were there and may have wanted to taste it as well? wines slightly more expensive then nearby Chateau's but prehaps reflects the medals they have got?

Thank you for your message, your coming and your time. Actually, we produce 12 different wines so unfortunately it's not possible to taste them all. However,we hope you enjoy the fourth or fifth ones you tried as well as the full explanations and our philosophy. The Team

We spent the afternoon touring the caves and tasting the great wine produced by this great producer. Our young guide (sorry I can't remember his name) was informative, charming and passionate about their wine. He made our afternoon one to remember! I can't recommend a visit here highly enough!

We dropped in here on our way back to the UK last year having been introduced to the lovely wine of Château Gaudrelle at a local bar. This year we were determined to pick up some of the delightful tendre sec on the way down to the Lot-et-Garonne. Now we've shared what we bought with our friends in the South we will be dropping in on our way home again.

We dropped in to taste and buy wine on our journey back to the ferry, on the recommendation of the proprietor of our hotel. It was a delightful experience. The 2014 wines were delicious and the welcome friendly. We have returned to England with several cases of excellent Vouvray.
