Wyndham Estate™ is the historically important site where early pioneer George Wyndham planted Australia’s first commercial Shiraz vineyard in 1830. Wyndham Estate is an award-winning tourism destination which attracts more than 40,000 visitors annually, and after taking out the award for 'Best Tourism Winery' in NSW for the last 3 years, we are now in the NSW tourism Hall of Fame! We have also now won best tourism winery in Australia, twice in the last 3 years! The expansive property sits peacefully on the banks of the Hunter River surrounded by undulating vineyards, green pastures and quiet countryside. There is a heritage trail which shows off the main points on the property including Dalwood house which was built in the early 1800's, the family graveyard where George Wyndham himself is buried, our 'fish hotels' and is a great way to spend half a day. The main building on the Estate, captured in the Wyndham Estate logo, was erected in 1904 from local sandstone which was hand-cut by convicts and bears lovely red cedar timber ceilings which add to its rustic elegance. Visitors can enjoy a range of experiences including: Wine tasting daily at the Wyndham Estate Cellar Door which comprises a full selection of favourites such as the BIN range and George Wyndham wines as well as single vineyard Hunter Valley wines for the connoisseur; A fantastic, free wine club which gives people exclusive access to some rare and older wines not available to the general public.

What a view! Lovely area to sit outside and have lunch. Or do as we did and go inside for a tasting. Small winery that does not sell in the bottle shops. Great wines with a wide variety. Tried some new wines that we had not tasted before. It was good to taste wine in large wine glasses. Will visit... More

Great service, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. We tried all of the Reds, whites and the show reserve Tawny and Muskets. We ended up buying several of the GEORGE WYNDHAM RANGE CABERNET MERLOT vintages, show reserve Tawny and the musket. Fantastic service, great staff and pointed to some other wonders of the Hunter Valley.

We ended up there randomly but what a pearl! The venue is amazing, staff super friendly and some of the finest Australian wine owned by this company. We highly recommend to stop by!

We had our wedding here in September last year and people are still raving about it! The food was amazing and the service was even better. We could not have asked for a more beautiful setting and there was so much room. Hannah the wedding planner was so organised and helpful. We could not have asked for a better day!... More

We had lunch here. It was very pleasant outside. What I wanted was not on the menu so I asked - barramundi and green salad - and they happily did it. Food was excellent as was the wine but quite expensive. $120 for two glasses of wine each and two lunches.

We recently (April 2014) had our wedding at Wyndham Estate and everybody, including us had a ball. The setting is spectacular, one of the best in the Hunter. Although it rained on the day, their indoor option for the ceremony had to be one of the best - the Cask Room (the outdoor venues we could not use are amazing... More

Wyndham Estate produces some of the best wines around, so when I made a trip to Australia from the states, I had to include a stop. Skip the regular wine tasting and go for the VIP wine tasting with Cameron, it's well worth the extra cost and you get to try a variety of wines that are only offered at... More

We visited this estate as part of our trip around the Hunter Valley wine tasting and enjoying the scenery. We were met by Cameron who knew his profession and spent time with us discussing the history of the estate, the different wines and the state of the industry today. We were greeted warmly by all the people in the Hunter... More
