Monday 9th May. Just home from a lovely lunch at Delgatie Castle - beautiful home made Cullen Skink and freshly made roast beef sandwiches, plus home made chocolate cake! Never fails to amaze me how these women not only make all the meals from scratch, but look after holiday accommodation and then cater for weddings and functions as well !... More

Castle is an amazing historic building, lots to see, but would benefit from better presentation. Rooms were dusty and untidy and approach to castle was scruffy and depressing. A very interesting place though, just more care needed. Cafe and shop are very nive, however.

Visited on the strength of internet reviews, especially with regard to the "Award winning" kitchen. We turned up to what looked like an abandoned and closed property and almost drove away. Wish we had. The staff are friendly enough, and the history, especially as expressed in "The Captains" notes are refreshing, BUT the place is run down and shabby with... More

Oh my gosh it looks very old from the outside and it gave the feel, to me, of something kind of secretive about it. We were warmly greeted by a lady at the front door who took great pleasure in telling us about Captain Hay and how he came about owning the castle. We learned a few more things about... More

A group of 9 visited Delgatie for a tour and afternoon tea, as a birthday treat. After being allowed to explore the castle at our leisure, Joan and her staff provided the most excellent and friendly afternoon tea, including birthday cake. Nothing was too much bother, and everyone had an excellent experience. Highly recommended, thank you!
