Great visit around the castle (in English)!

To be honest, we weren't expecting much given how many castles we have visited in the area. However, we had an intelligent and animated guide who conducted the tour in excellent English and transmitted her enthusiasm about this fortress to us in a matter of minutes (while managing to keep my 8-year old entertained for almost the whole 50m tour).
The castle is full of historical details, once-innovative strategic structures which were then imported around the world, and a splendid view of the valley/Ceno River.
It's true that you need some imagination to picture how it must of been (it's not Versailles), but our excellent guide made that easy for us and I definitely recommend stopping off to see it if you're in the area - or have gone to eat at Osteria delle Vignes or the lovely Castle Restaurant for lunch.
(Events are organized at the castle for kids and adults as well). Brava, Lara!

We had visited several castles in Emilia–Romagna and this particular castle was amazing for many reasons! Our tour guide (dressed in traditional clothing) warmly welcomed us and provided us with many insightful and inspiring anecdotes regarding the castle, including but not limited to, the dungeon, courtyard, staircases, noble rooms, weapons and so much more. We were most fortunate to have witnessed an historical and fascinating experience. Bravissimo!

Great visit - fantastic tour

We were visiting several castles in the area and thought this one would be a great stop. It did not disappoint! Lara was a fantastic tour guide. The castle is one of the only ones that still reminds you of an original castle. I highly recommend to those who want to get a great historic tour and a castle experience. And don't forget to ask for Lara for a tour!

An excursion was amazing. It was almost an hour. A guide is an interesting narrator who tells a lot of fascinating details, asks questions on logic and keeps up your attention. The last floor has a woundeful view. There is a schedule with excursion hours for every season, pls check it.

Beautiful Castle

We decided to visit the castle during a break we had for several hours and weren’t disappointed. The tour we had was almost an hour and very well organised and interesting. A beautiful castle and views not to be missed if you are in the area.
