- Laura 🌷🌷🌷Meda, Italy9,879 contributionsBorghetto, a small hamlet of Valeggio sul Mincio, has been included among the most beautiful villages in Italy. My husband and I visited it in the week early in the morning to avoid too many tourists and fully enjoy the beauty of this place, surrounded by nature. The village is characterized by small streets, some mills, the Visconti bridge and the wooden bridge. The absolute protagonist of the village is the river Mincio with its rushing waters that form the waterfalls.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 10, 2024
- MrGrumpy_2013Bologna, Italy97 contributionsThis village is very characteristic: from the castle to the mill wheels on the water you can spend a few very pleasant hours. Surrounded by greenery, it also offers the possibility of having a picnic in the park with the classic plaid spread out on the grass. The only flaw is some "unwelcoming" restaurant activities in the centerVisited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 28, 2024
- Andrea S.Cesena, Italy984 contributionsBorghetto fraction of the municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio is included among the most beautiful villages in Italy. We arrive comfortably with our bikes and park them in the many places available along the Mincio cycle path. We love getting lost in the alleys of this "Borghetto" full of little places between one mill and another. Here a battle took place in which Napoleon defeated the Austrians and on August 6 of the same year was the scene of a French cannonade Borghetto found itself involved to varying degrees in the wars of the time, on 9 April 1848 there was a clash between the Piedmontese and Austrians who withdrew spoiling the wooden bridge The village has undergone intense restoration work that has redeveloped the houses at the turn of the Mincio, which have been transformed into public places.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 27, 2024
- MarmafatBorgo San Lorenzo, Italy1,378 contributionsPretty hamlet, separated by water channels and mill blades that were, well maintained, clean and welcoming. It has perhaps lost some of its original identity, now it is devoted exclusively to tourism, between bars and restaurants and shops. Beautiful to see both from the iron bridge that overlooks it, and from the inside. Parking (for a fee) nearby and small free parking, open in half an hour or so. Overall recommended!Visited November 2024Traveled soloWritten November 2, 2024
- EmanueleMilan, Italy60 contributionsDay with splendid weather, which has enhanced a really suggestive place, for the river and the mills. It is better to go early in the morning, later it gets very crowded. You can also eat on site, some restaurants are really good, not touristy.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 2, 2024
- Dorotea BellomoCasamassima, Italy648 contributionsBorghetto is recognized among the most beautiful villages in Italy and is actually worth a visit because it is really cute with its old mills (now used as b & b), the Mincio river that runs through it and its small historic streets. As soon as you arrive there is a convenient parking costing 1.5h per hour. Relaxing walk for the body and a pleasure for the eyes and animates the landscape. Well worth a visit!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 5, 2024

A wedding favor where you can walk in the streets of the center admire the mills and the water that passes under the bridges... la.maggiormaggiore is made of stone really a romantic and fascinating place For a walk or a drink in the bars in the centreVisited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten January 15, 2025
- axelkoeppeSwitzerland138 contributionsA great little town with a lot of history. Great location with nice restaurants on the theme of Totellini. We were there on a Wednesday about noon, which had the advantage that it was not so crowded. However, the smaller restaurants then closed. Highly recommended.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 24, 2024
- Massimiliano PNovara, Italy48,329 contributionsBorghetto, as the name already suggests, is a very picturesque tiny village that develops on the banks of the Mincio river. Given its size, its visit can be completed in half an hour, but it is still a very pleasant walk, during which you can appreciate beautiful panoramic views of the river and the remains of the Visconti bridge or discover the interior of the church of San Marco. What is certainly not lacking in Borghetto are the restaurants, numerous and of average good quality. The village can be reached by car, there are a couple of parking lots in the immediate vicinity, or with a walk of about 1 km from the center of Valeggio and the SigurtĂ gardens.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 12, 2024
- enore facchiniMilan, Italy10 contributionsValeggio sul Mincio is a beautiful town that among its beauties hosts the SigurtĂ Park. A park with a long history, photo and film location, to walk to admire all the corners and spend 4/5 hours of great emotional satisfaction, overlooking Lake Garda and Mincio. Also equipped for the less able. A few steps from Valeggio is Borghetto sul Mincio . A pearl of a small village overlooking the Mincio that offers views and lovely walks. The village all renovated with a lot of good taste. offers trattorias and restaurants well located by the river with traditional popular cuisine of great quality. Borghetto is one of those sites that you can not miss, then you will return and return.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 6, 2024

A tiny village very well kept.
The reflections on the Mincio of the Visconti Bridge are fascinating.
The choreography is completed with the Scaligero Castle which rises above the town of Valeggio above.
Here was a place where several mills worked which today have been used as tourist venues, bars and restaurants.
Always pleasant although it is not the first time we have come, especially with a beautiful day as we found it and the autumn colours.

Nice village, very well maintained, but in my opinion too touristy. On Monday and with the rain there were still a lot of people, I guess on weekends of good weather. Many local bars / restaurants, with prices for tourists. Glad I was there, but I expected more

Small village on the Mincio with a bridge and a Scala castle with an enchanting atmosphere. The swans and ducks on the stretch of river add a touch of romance. The alley where the mills are concentrated is unmissable. If you go to Lake Garda, you can't help but stop here.

Small ancient village on the Mincio river, well maintained and cared for. Parking just outside the town center at normal prices. There are many typical and local restaurants where you can eat and drink something in a calm and relaxing atmosphere by the river, which is populated by ducks, mallards, geese and swans. The castle and the mills on the canals and also the bridges over the river are very beautiful. A beautiful place to take a trip out of town.

Fantastic village seems to be in a fairytale book!! It's a shame that the premises and the service are miserable, I wasn't even able to drink a coffee despite the large number of bars, you can only drink coffee while sitting down... Imagine the rest! Not recommended, it's better to see photos on the internet and make do with them

Beautiful village by the river
So beautiful it looks fake.
We ate under the plane trees by the river and it was great, although the prices were a bit steep, but the goddess alone was worth it!!!!
There is also a shop with traditional products that the river passes below it is very impressive!!!!

Absolutely beautiful town, we stopped here on the way back to Verona airport at the perfect golden hour as sun was setting. Such a perfect fairytale town by the river, only small so doesn’t take long to walk around but lots of good places to eat and drink (places do get full so best to book if you can). We walked up to the castle ruins which gave a nice view over the town and only took about 15 mins so not too far.

Beautiful village, well looked after and served.
Some views with mills and canals that are truly spectacular also due to the blue of the Mincio.
For the rest, too many people and almost all the food activities... no typical products, in short, truly tourist oriented!
One hour you can turn it all over.

An absolutely must-see place, full of history and background. A logo that I can define as magical, especially at night or early in the morning when there are no tourists around yet. If you are looking for a romantic place on the river, well here it is.

io ho parcheggiato in un parcheggio grandissimo che c'è proprio all'ingresso di Borghetto. MI sembra che costasse 1 euro all'ora.
