Popular story has it that this bridge was once the site of a pact between a man and the devil. A man supposedly promised to the devil that, in exchange for a particular favor -- that of being able to finish the construction of the bridge, he would give him the first soul that would cross the bridge upon its inauguration. When the time to consign such soul came, the man, upon the advice of St. Nicholas, outwitted the devil by making a dog cross the bridge instead of a person. :D
Historically speaking, this bridge is just one of the many bridges in Medieval Europe called "Devil's Bridge." This one in Tolentine has five arches and crosses the Chienti River. It was built in the late 13th century. There's nothing particularly artistic and highly touristic about the place, except the fact that it's historical and unique in structure compared with the other bridges that cross the Chienti River. It would take you just a few minutes to cross the bridge. You may also want to have a photo or two taken with it in the background.

We love Tolentino, it's a small nice city having the amazing gelato on the Piazza. It's a beautiful place with nice surroundings and people.
