Good views of Pulpit Rock can be obtained from the walking track which leads off from the Cape Schanck Lighthouse. See it from up high, or from the bottom of the steps and boardwalk.

The walk to Pulpit Rock from the Cape Schanck lighthouse involves many steps along a wooden boardwalk, but the views over the cape are well worth the effort. In high season this area becomes quite busy, so ideally go for an early morning walk to...More

Mid week will avoid the crowds, although not far in metres the climb back up, for me, needed a few rest stops. That said the view is spectactular, and well worth it.

Wear sturdy shoes, take your time. The walk from the bottom and across to Pulpit Rock is worth the effort. It can be slippery in some parts and watch the waves. Definitely take your camera. It's a great location for sunset photography.

We did the great Boardwalk walk and when you get down the bottom to the black volcanic rocks of Pebble Beach you can see Pulpit Rock standing there in the water as if on guard. It is amazing how this rock has been shaped by...More

Only about 10-15 minutes tops. Plenty of stairs, however.
