Any words you read about the floats will not begin to capture the visual experience that it is to go through this "museum." It is not really a museum, but it is the warehouse (10 to 12 stories tall) for the 3 most recent floats...More

I was here for the festival which I think is the main tourism for this town. The floats come out of here and so you have to come and visit. There is also a restaurant on the top floor and some souvenir and food vendors...More

We left this town for our last day in Aomori Prefecture, and instead of seeing Aomori itself we stopped in Goshogowara and spend great time at Tachineputa No Yakate, its adjacent gallery and two other sights in town. There is a beautifully designed display of...More

Around the start of August each year there is a festival and this is where the giant lantern displays are made for the big parade. You must g and visit and see the floats a lot of time and effort have gone into making them

Tachineputa no Yakata in Aomori (1 Replies)
Can anyone advise me how to get to Tachineputa museum from cruise port, coming from cruiseship and will be staying at Aomori for 10 hours. Have planned to visit ASPAM and AUQA fish market and Nebuta House Warase as these attractions are closer to port. Hirosaki Castle is also on my list but seems a bit far from the city. Any recommendation is appreciated.
