This town of Santa Severina is about 30 minutes outside of Crotone. A nice ride. The town has a great mountain top view. You can drive up and park basically in the “former moat” of the castle, easy drive and parking compared to Crotone. In...More

We enjoyed the castle, it's pretty well kept and the archeological area was something we don't normally see in the Italian castles we've seen. We definitely enjoyed it, the views were great.

Wonderful village on the hillside. Photos from the road to the castle makes it look like some kind of Bond villan's lair. The castle was impressive and the museum was extensive. We enjoyed all the English translations of everything and could have spent longer there....More

The castle is beautifully conserved and presented. The tour of the dungeon and tortures was interesting if ghoulish!! This was one of the best presented sites that we have visited in Italy.

Historic building of an ancient way of living: on top of a hill to defense from invaders, beautiful landscape and the sea on the horizon. A "must see"

Imposing castle on a hilltop with great views. Impressive museum. The historic town centre is also pleasant.
