Nice little beach down by the harbour, attracting tourists due to the spectacular rock cliff views. We arrived in the afternoon as recommended due to the high cliffs blocking sun and had a good mix of sun and shade. My main issue was that there was a really foul smell when we went. There are a lot of houses atop the cliffs and pipes going up the cliff face and I wonder if we could smell passing sewage (it really was that bad!). We were able to move to an area closer to the walkway which helped but definitely put a dampener on our picnic! The water was great for a swim but ai can’t imagine spending more than a couple of hours here before going off to explore the rest of the town. From here we walked along the walkway around the cliffs which were just as impressive but smell free!

The beach has been done up again but even with some improved facilities it’s still not the best beach in the area. It’s small and with with control of numbers on the beach with the virus it can become full very quickly especially at weekends when the locals come and they don’t social distance!

I would recommend this beach in the afternoon. Since it faces west and high cliffs at the back you need to wait until the sun is high in the sky. A really stunning setting, I loved the soft black sand and watching the blue waves crashing and the boats running the gauntlet into the port.

Sun beds 3 euros each. Not the newest beds you’ll ever lay on but for 3 euros no complaints here. Not great for kids if they want to swim as sea is very rough. V strong swimmers only but our kids enjoyed getting battered by the waves on the shore.
We found parking easy but parker further up in the town and walked down. Not much to the port a few restaurants but rows of cars in front of them mean you would just sit at your table looking at cars. Nice little street leading to the playa with gift shops, cafes and nice ice cream place. The natural pools and oasis pools were closed due to COVID restrictions.

An enjoyable few hours.

Very small black sand beach. Water temperature was quiet nice. Because of covid toilets and changing rooms were closed which was a shame.

Visiting and viewing Los Gigantes (a gigantic cliff rock reaching into the ocean) is anyway on the highly recommended things to do in Tenerife, so why not combine it with a bit of beach time? That's what we did and we were not disappointed.

It is a small beach, giving it a distinct sort of familial feeling with natural shade all morning, until approximately 2pm (in July). And then there's the very comfortable, smooth sand, the amazing view and lots of restaurants and programs available close by. What's not to like? Perhaps if you get unlucky and the beach is full?

Well, luckily we avoided that and thus our 5/5 😎

Small beach, but the views are awesome. There some facilities as showers, beach chairs. Restaurants nearby. Parking right next to the beach.
You could spend half a day there.

The views are amazing but the beach is not friendly. Waves are big, sand is black, there are no toilettes. But next to it there are very good and small restaurants :)

It’s not a particularly attractive beach but you can get a great view of the cliffs from the sand. The authorities have made a good effort to improve the area from when we last visited . It has been smartened up, and there are now showers and possibly toilets as well together with a lifeguard.A dilapidated building has been removed and new paving really improves the area. Worth a look!

Lots of people here, so wasn’t very relaxing. You can’t reach it from the harbor; you have to go up a street and go behind the harbor-front buildings to get to it.
