Well worth a visit, a beautiful church and views of the area...we stopped off on our way up to the North West coast and were so pleased we did. A long and windy road but worth doing and plenty of viewpoints on the way ... So take a camera...!

Santiago del Teide is a nice village to stay in, to explore Tenerife from - Close to the highway going south, and 30 minutes to the southern airport. Several villages closeby like Erjos, also offer hiking routes. In about 20 minutes through the mountains there's the highway to east, to go to Parque Natural de Anaga for example. An hour... More

The most AMAZING walk - supposedly can take 3 hours but easily less if you can prevent yourself stopping continually to relish the utterly magnificent views. It is the most incredibly wonderful route through the volcanic peaks with utterly fabulous views all the way. The route is along a reasonably smooth path with some rocky bits to negotiate.

If you want to get away from all the tourists, shops and beach for a day, take a trip up the mountain to the beautiful little town of Santiago del Teidi. The 325 bus takes you up there from Los Gigantes or if you have a car it's about 20 - 30 minutes drive. It has an interesting little church... More

My partner and I were looking forward to visiting this small town high up in the mountains. We especially wanted to see The Visitors' Centre and its exhibition on volcanology of Tenerife and other interesting facts about the area. Unfortunately we went on a Monday and this is the day the centre is closed. This wasn't mentioned in any literature... More

I'm currently visiting Tenerife for a couple of months, needed a haircut, and found a great barber. British Barber Shop Company is an owner operated shop in Santiago del Tiede. Friendly, UK ex-pat, speaks Spanish and English, great service, only 9 euros, took his time, and I got a great cut. He was worth me taking the time to write... More

We love Santiago del Teide. Access by car, or on the 325 bus from Los Gigantes. Always a little cooler than the coast - take a jumper in wintertime! A stop off for those on a Masca walking trip, but there are several excellent walks here. There are a number of cafe/ restaurants, some a little touristy. There is a... More

My girlfriend and I went here for a day to walk one of the trails, very nice location with superb views of Teide and lots of pine trees, The weather was probably abit too hot for walking but we had ample water, the pine forest is spectacular too!
