We got a taxi from Puerto Santiago for 17 euros (between 4 of us). Santiago del Teide looks really nice but we didn't have time to look round. We walked down the road from the tourist info building (with an orange tree and a statue...More

This is bucket and spade land. Pints for 95 cents. Clothes you wonder why you bought. Electrical goods that are not what they pretend. Best avoided!

This is a good starting point for beautiful walks. You can walk to Masca from here. Nice little town with a beautiful Canarian church. Real village life with some bars and restaurants.

Santiago del Teide is a good stopover on the route from the north coast to Los Gigantes. The village itself is rather boring, but the landscape around it is very impressive.

Well worth a visit, a beautiful church and views of the area...we stopped off on our way up to the North West coast and were so pleased we did. A long and windy road but worth doing and plenty of viewpoints on the way ......More
