Banana Plantation and a Farm by Tuk Tuk from Costa Adeje

42 reviews
The Caldera del Rey is a vast, shallow crater with banana groves and protected parkland—one of Tenerife’s natural highlights—but it lies a bit beyond walking distance from nearby towns. This tour takes you from Puerto Colon to the Caldera del Rey monument via tuk-tuk—a small, fun three-wheeled vehicle—for a guided walk in a banana plantation and farm. End the tour with a stop in a farm shop for a smoothie made with local products.

My husband and I stayed here in early January and we’d definitely return. It’s unfussy and inviting. It’s cold in the evenings and mornings during winter yet we enjoyed the cosy fire (and a game of chess in front of it before dinner!). The food at dinner is typically Canarian and the breakfast is amazing - huge choice (including diary free options) and a juicer with array of veggies for you to “juice your own”. If you’re riding out on a hack overlook the tired tack and enjoy the energetic and forward moving horses (not your average riding school pony!). All up a great place and a very enjoyable, memorable stay.
