Very special wine tasting experience. We arrived by car from Taormina an extremely warm july day - staff was extremely welcoming and took us on a fabulous cellar tour to cool off. After that, we did the wine tasting with lunch. Even if i am not a very big wine fan, this was excellent. Recommend it!

This is our second visit to this beautiful property in the past 2 years. You are greeted by a friendly and warm staff who are excited to share the history of this property and winemaking which is family owned for 10 generations. The property is beautiful with scenic views overlooking the vineyards and sea. After an overview of the property and barrel room we were seated for a wonderful and delicious 4 coarse lunch from appetizer to desert each perfectly accompanied by one of their wines. They offer full case shipping of their wines to the US which is a bonus. I would not think of visiting this area without spending an afternoon sipping wine and having lunch in this enchanted place.

I was there on April 7, 2016 and I purchased a case of wine to be shipped to Chicago, USA. It's been over a month and a half and I have not received the wine nor have I gotten any response from the winery on when I might be able to expect it. Disappointing service!!!

Dear Guest, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience you've had with the wine order and I'm sorry that your bad review is for the wine order. When you came in our company the wine was not ready for the market and we told you that the delivery time would be about two months. We usually reply to all requests of our guests so is very strange we didn't reply to your email. Please contact me to barbara@villagrande.it and I will give you all the details about your order. Best regards.

After reading all the positive feedback, we went there for the wines.
After being welcomed by a very nice and warm woman who explained us a bit about the wines it started very well.

While we were tasting a man (it seemed her husband) came in.
If he played the role of being the arrogant Italian that is not interested in any cusomers at all: he succeeded very well.
Especially when we tried their Etna Rosso. This bottle completely tasted like cork (what can of course happen), what we mentioned; he looked at us like we were completely stupid.
What a pitty. Next time better maybe.

We spent 2 days at Barone di Villagrande and everything was perfect: great accommodation, magnificent view, excellent food and wine and (last but not least) Veronica was always smiling and helpful.
We cannot wait to come back.

We have been to this wonderful spot twice, and would go again in a heartbeat. We were welcomed with a delicious aperitivo paired with a delicious combination of pecorino cheese, capers, fruit and almonds. It was a shock to taste how the food combined with this delicious wine. The rest of the tastings were perfectly paired with delicious food that was also gorgeous. We also bought some wine. Happy day!!

Great wine, views, and food. Staff was friendly and professional. Property tour similar to other local vineyards with one exception, the Chestnut barrels. Make a reservation and enjoy a full lunch with wine pairing.

This was our last three nights in Sicily and I can honestly say this was the best. Before I go into detail let me say "Do yourself a favour and stay here, if I could give the villa 10 stars I would".
Firstly the staff are the most genuine caring and friendly that you could imagine. Whilst being professional they love to have joke and help you relax and enjoy your stay. Especially Angela who's infectious smile, bubbly personality and professional approach makes the stay special. Thank you, thank you thank you.
The food is sensational and prepared by Julia who is focused on making your taste buds "zing". She prepared several dishes just around our tastes, and just goes to show how committed the staff are to ensure you leave content.
Barbara along with her husbandMarco, own and Manage the winery. Barb, who is a life saver (another story) runs a very tight ship ensuring everything goes according to plan.
The villa rooms a very large, clean and comfortable. Rooms include huge bed, lounge, fridge and minibar. Bathroom is also large with excellent shower over a bath. The three upstairs rooms have balconies overlooking the garden, vineyards and out to the Mediterranean. Downstairs there is a huge lounge, with coffee machine and little biscuits and pastries.
Just below the villa and looking out over the vineyard is the 10 metre swimming pool. Too cold for us in May but would be lovely in a few weeks.
BIG TIP: Take the cooking class it's not only full of information but a huge lot of fun. Guests in the restaurant wanted to know what the laughter was about. Takes about 2-3 hrs but you get to eat what you prepare and cook. I surprised myself. Thanks Julia.
Now the wines are superb and show the hard work that has gone into preparation as well as the vines and location. We found them to be lovely and dry with great earth characteristics. Coming from OZ we like something you can stand spoon in and the Sciara red is a delight. Also we enjoyed the white Fiore made with a traditional Chardonnay style.
To sum things up I wish we had simply flown into Catania and stayed here. We could have then taken day trips to Siracusa and Ragusa etc.

We stayed for 4 nights in order to visit the Sicilian East Coast. Our rooms were located on the first floor, individually decorated, very clean. The resort is beautifully located with a striking view of the Mediterranean from the balcony and the Etna from the other side of the resort. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful (they organised a trip up Mount Etna for us), the dinner typical Sicilian cuisine. The menu is accompanied by excellent wines from the Villagrande wine yard. Very quiet, also at night. The drive up to Milo from the autostrade is not the easiest one, especially at night, narrow and curvy streets, but most of the tourist spots are within reasonable distance: Taormina 30min, Syracuse 1h10, Catania 40min.
