The building has got 2 parts, the renewed house and the modern museum. Everything is well positioned. They have audio guide in English too. As a local citizen I am very proud of it.

This is a small teacher's house with adjoining school room where the composer of Hungary's national anthem and other patriotic works was born and raised. It is very well restored and has a great small exhibit. It is very visitor friendly and aimed mainly and school children.

It is a good way to find out how Erkel Ferenc lived and if you are Hungarian born, you know he wrote the National Hymn.
This little museum is situated in a small city of Gyula. This city has the best Hungarian food, best STRAND (which means a collection of pools, hot and cold, for the young and old), a beautiful fortress, a castle newly renovated, lots of good cafes.

Unfortunately the name of Ferenc Erkel is not very well known outside Hungary. He was a composer, written several operas and the Hungarian National Hymn too.The small museum tells a lot about his life, his works, but for foreigners it is says not too much.

I like that the hotel have direct access to Varfurdo. This year was the second time when we took the same package. We took the room from 4* hotel, breakfast and dinner included, also the full package for Vardurdo. It worth's all the money. It has parking, and their own spa/sauna, which is great during late evenings when Varfurdo is closed.
