We came very late, but Yvonne made our day! Excellent wines and her friendly explanations made our feelings very good. She carefully asked our preferences and offered wines like she can make our dreams come true. Also offered bread and cheese... hmmm, yummy

Visiting this winery was the highlight of our weekend trip, especially so that it was unplanned and we went in just because we were passing by and it was open. The property is beautiful with great outdoor sitting area. There is also a small kids area with a slide and swings (crucial if you have a kid!). The wine list to taste is impressive. They had for sure 30 wines to taste. They specialize on sweet wines but they are also offering wines from Schwarz and his reds are seriously impressive. They took all the time with us. We even got fresh baguette and some blue cheese and condiments to match the sweet wines. And all this without charge! Would definitely recommend.

What a great tasting and lunch. Really impressed by the quality and variety of wines. I enjoyed the Pinot Gris and both Cuvée.
Lunch was very complimentary.
I loved the enthusiasm and knowledge of Gerard and his wife.
Great tasting.
Any way will need to think about stocking up for later.

Kracher is an excellent Weingut (winery). They have an enormous range of wines, specialising in the sweeter varieties (Beerenauslesen and Trockenbeerenauslesen). We experienced a great welcome with knowledgeable staff. Bread and water were offered for the tasting, as was cheese. We spent a good 2 hours tasting our way through the extensive range. Highly recommended...

Kracher, in the tiny settlement of Illmitz, has the family winery Kracher on the main street. A nondescript building and large gate hides a tasteful interior, elegant tasting room with splendid veranda, where one can taste the wines of this eminent producer. The current owner, Gerhard Kracher is a third-generation winemaker, and the winery was brought to fame by his fater, Alois. Their wines are impeccable, and the majority of production is of sweet wines. Very professionally run, worth a stop for a tasting and for taking away some bottles.

If you want to learn about Burgenland wine, especially if the sweet variety, this is the place to go. The TBAs are to die for, and there is a broad selection to choose from.
