Situated at the northern entrance to the game park this small cemetery on the site of one of the earliest encounters of the Boer war is another telling reminder of the loss of life in a far off forgotten corner of the world. In our...More

If you are doing a tour of the Battlefields of Natal South Africa then Elandslaagte is a must. Yet another example of the stupidity of the British command at the beginning of the Anglo Boer War.

This memorial is situated close to one of the entrance gates to Nambithi and is worth a stop. It is kept very clean and gives details some of the soldiers who were killed during this particular battle.

Anglo Boer War. A remberance about the terrible way the British killed the Boers with lances as they were trying to escape from them. They suffered a horrible death and the English joked about it sfterwards and said the have been pig sticking the Boers.
