We visited with our knowledgeable guide who brought the whole battle to life. So much better than simply reading the plaques and information boards. As with any battlefield, you cannot help being moved when thinking of what the men on both sides had to endure....More

Well organised and well structured memorial for this battle that took place in 1900. In hindsight we see and understand that also this battle fought during a bloody war was totally useless. Too many lost their lives.

The most amazing place but very emotive when you see what the English and Boer combatants endured on that lonely and desolate hill. Liverpool Football ground "The Kop " is named after it, due to the number of Lancashire soldiers killed. A MUST VISIT.
