The castle of Spezzano is to be found about 5 kms from Fiorano, Province of Modena, on the top of a hill at the foot of the Appennines. The castle itself is not much imposing from the outside, there are more major castles in the neighbourhood but the multimedia museum about the past and present of ceramics industry is really amazing. My six-year-old son was really fond of the exhibition and was keen on trying all the multimedia facilities. There is an elevator so you can access all floors with a weeelchair or a stroller as well. Opening times: only weekends, 10-12 and 15-19. There are tour guides who speak English very well and most of the exhibition material is also translated to English. And the most amazing thing is that it is free (clearly sponsored by ceramics companies in the neighbourhood which provide 20% of Europe's ceramics production).…
