Visiting Puglia for the first time, we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Angelo and Experience Puglia. He made our trip unforgettable in every way. We explored a stunning variety of locations, each more interesting and breathtaking than the last. The week long tour was perfectly balanced, showcasing the coast, charming towns, wineries, and more! Angelo's deep knowledge of the area enriched our experience, making every moment both educational and enjoyable.
Coming from NYC, we love food and trying different resturants, and touring with Angelo did not disappoint. He educated us on the local specialties of the region (we may never look at olive oil the same way again) and always chose delicious wines to pair with each meal. We dined at some of the best restaurants, all thanks to Angelo's fantastic recommendations and connections, ensuring we tasted the most authentic and delicious local cuisine.
Spending a week with Angelo felt like being with an old friend. His warm personality and genuine passion for Puglia shone through, making us feel welcome and at ease. Leading up to the trip, Angelo was extremely communicative, answering all our questions promptly. He even went above and beyond by dropping us off at the airport to catch our 6 am flight on the last day! We highly recommend Experience Puglia with Angelo. It's worth every penny (and more!). All the five-star reviews are true, so book right away—you won't regret it!

This seven night tour of Puglia with Angelo Coluccia was wonderful and completely exceeded our expectations. My husband and I booked the tour because it not only offered the chance to experience and learn about the history of the area but to sample the food and wine as well in a small group.
The places we visited were amazing and every meal we had with Angelo was enjoyable and several were exceptional.
Angelo's background in the wine trade also meant that we visited the best vineyards and learnt about the local wines from experts.
Not only that we tasted and watched cheese being made as well as helping to prepare our own lunch at a delightful farm one day.
Angelo was a wonderful guide, always professional and caring, but also great fun as he imparted his amazing knowledge of Italian history in impeccable English. He was also a very careful driver and always ready to help with any requests we had.
We loved Puglia and after a week with Angelo could understand his enthusiasm and pride in his area.
The tour was well paced and varied and the B&B Cavour very comfortable in an interesting town.
Since we returned home we have been urging all our friends to book Angelo's tour.

We were planning our trip to Puglia and it was recommended we contact Angelo Collucia from Experience Puglia.
It was the best decision we made that created many, many magical moments of our time in Puglia. From the moment we initially contact Angelo to inquire about his tours, to our sad farewell of this beautiful, interesting, ancient part of Italy, he was very professional and incredibly knowledgeable of his much loved homeland.
His continual communication was very thorough and Angelo was very prompt in replying to our many emailed questions.
The itinerary was well planned, varied and showcased all the incredible special places in Puglia.
We cannot thank you enough Angelo for your care, kindness, delicious lunches and interesting commentaries of the history and origin of the places we visited. It was everything and more than we had hoped for.

We've been to Italy many times but have never experienced it as we had with Angelo. He brought Puglia to life ... its charming villages, its history, and its cultural and culinary treasures. Angelo is highly professional, supremely informed across many subjects, and is very personable. We highly recommend Experiencing Puglia with Angelo.

An amazing week filled with great beauty, layers of history, delicious food and carefully selected wines. Led by Angelo, he is more than a guide - an interpreter of cultures, past and present. The antipasto courses were a lesson in taste and preparation. Then of course comes the handmade pastas with (new to us) sauces. The accommodations were so comfortable and put us in the heart of the village with time to absorb the true flavor of Italian life. Be sure to put Puglia on your travel list, even if you have visited many other regions, you won't be disappointed.

Angelo creates and arranges an amazing visit to Puglia.....you see everything that you need to see and experience created around your special desires and interests. Great food and restaurants and special unique experiences that only he can arrange.....like special visits to private vineyards and farm to table cooking experiences and, of course, visiting all of the beautiful and scenic towns all around the Puglia region of Italy.
I highly recommend a visit to Puglia and letting Angelo/Puglia Experience arrange you visit!

Angelo was an excellent tour guide his company handled everything from transportation to and from Bari airport, daily tours which included up to three towns each day and helped us with accommodations (apt) which was located in the center of town. Choice of restaurants were amazing with local ties to each of the towns we visited. Angelo educated us on the different types of wine from all over Italy but our favorites seemed to be from local vineyards. Knowing the area my wife's grandparents were from he planned that town into our itinerary.
You will not be disappointed in choosing this company.

We recently returned home after enjoying Angelo's wonderful tour "Experience Puglia". I rarely get around to writing Trip Advisor reviews these days but felt I should add our five star rating to all the others. This wasn't our first trip to Italy, however somehow Puglia eluded us, apart from driving through there some thirty-eight years ago. Back then we wanted to see some of the uniquely shaped trulli houses, and we did….but that was all. Had we known how much more there is to see we would have returned sooner.
My husband doesn't mind driving in Italy but it has become more demanding, with parking restrictions and ZTL zones, so Angelo's tour seemed just the thing for us and we travelled well in his comfortable vehicle. Angelo has put together an excellent itinerary which allows you to experience the sights and tastes of Puglia and learn the rich history and culture of the area, which he is passionate about. All the restaurants he chose for the 'long lunches' were excellent, and all different. The accompanying wines are selected with care; we enjoyed trying wines we cannot find in Australia. Angelo provides interesting historical background to what you are seeing. We came home vowing to learn more about Emperor Frederick II, the medieval monarch whose stamp is all over Puglia. There is walking involved on this tour, but Angelo paces it well to your level of fitness.
So much to see in Puglia, which has some beautiful places to visit, and is less crowded than many other places in Italy. We could not pick a favourite sight; each town had something noteworthy to see. Maybe beautiful baroque Martina Franca which had the added bonus of a Picasso exhibition in its Palazzo Ducale? Maybe the somewhat mysterious Castel del Monte, a UNESCO heritage-listed site? Maybe watching the women who sit all day in the streets of old Bari fashioning the ear-shaped pasta (orecchiette), or the fishermen at the Bari port pounding their catch of octopuses on rocks to tenderize them? Or the beautiful seaside town of Trani with its spectacular Duomo, situated right on the sea? The list goes on…and that is before adding the quirky trulli buildings into the mix...And then there is Matera - which is in fact across the border in Basilicata and is an amazing sight. Angelo's tour also includes a daytime visit to Matera. I would also recommend staying there overnight as we did when our tour with Angelo was over. (We arranged this independently.)
The accommodation during the tour was chosen by Angelo and was comfortable, clean and managed by pleasant people. We spent six nights in a boutique hotel in Gioia del Colle and one in a villa in the country where we also had an amusing cooking lesson, and then ate the results. We liked Gioia del Colle; it seems the sort of town you would not mind living in. Our touring days were very busy and we returned to Gioia late afternoon. However after a rest we enjoyed walking around in the evenings as the residents were doing (the passeggiata) and sometimes had a light meal at one of the casual local restaurants. (Angelo gave us a very useful map indicating some recommended places in relation to our hotel, with opening times and specialties.) Gioia also has a noteworthy small castle (Frederick II again) with an archaeological museum containing treasures from nearby excavations dating back to ancient Greek times.
We are experienced travellers, but it would have been hard to put together something by ourselves that was as well-crafted and all-round satisfying as Angelo's tour.
