Fabulous chocolates in one of Langhe's most charming, historical villages! A must, particularly if you want to avoid tourist crowds (at least for now). Closed on Wednesdays.

When in Cherasco, the Barbero confectionery shop is a must. It was founded in the late 1800' and is furnished in the Liberty style. It is famous for its Baci di Cherasco, irregular chocolates made with Piedmontese hazelnuts. There are also exquisite pralines, hazelnut cakes and other marvels of confectionery as well as fresh petits fours. The service is wonderful and the whole experience is very positive.

In the hilltop town of Cherasco, this 19th century chocolate shop exudes history and charm with its wood panels. Many different kinds of chocolate, but the star is the baci: dark chocolate with hazelnuts. Make sure you buy different chocolates because once you leave, I do not think you can get them anywhere else.

This elegant chocolate shop is unstated to a by passer. We had to retreat our steps after chatting with the helpful lady at the Tourist Information. This is a spacious, respectable and well presented store, with chocolates nicely packed in gift boxes for takeaway. The lady who served us was polite and correct. We requested to taste her famous Baci, and she readily responded - she quickly let us try others. We were delighted to buy from her as her products were delicious.

Interesting chocolate tasting with some really delicious chocolates. It would be nice to also be able to see how the chocolates are made. Not cheap, but very good.
