My wife and I booked the 3 hours trip at the last minute after stopping at one of the excursion stands in Los Cristianos. It was well worth it! We were promised whale sightings and were not disappointed. There was some time at the end for some swimming and snorkeling, which was nice, but there is not much to see in the way of wildlife for snorkeling. The included lunch was sandwiches, nothing fancy, but nice. The free bar included beer, wine, cava, soda, juices etc. All in all this was fun day on the sea.

We didn’t the 4.5hour whales and dolphins trip. This was a really great trip and I’m so glad we booked the longer one- I’d have been gutted for it to end after 3 hours.

The customer experience was brilliant. We booked online, which was very easy. I called the next day to advise of vegan food requirements and the lady I spoke to was lovely. There was the offer of a free resort transfer and the office was really easy to find (out on the pier in Las Galleras). There are some lovely cafes on the pier so recommend you arrive early if you have time to enjoy the town.

The boat was clean and modern and all of the crew were very welcoming and professional. There was more than enough space for everyone to spread out and lots of different areas on the boat depending on where you want to sit.

Smoking was allowed, but strictly at the very back of the boat and while the boat was moving, so that it didn’t affect anyone.

The crew were really knowledgeable about the whales and dolphins and knew how to find them. They were able to get so close to a pod of fin whales, I’ve never seen anything like it. We also got very close to a much larger whale which was also fantastic.

The food was really delicious. The focus for a trip like this is clearly the experience and the wildlife, but the food tasted great and had obviously been prepared by someone who knew how to cook. We really enjoyed it. The bar had cold beer on tap, nice cava and soft drinks. It was well ran and there were no queues or anything.

I’d totally recommend this, it was a brilliant day with a really great business.

We went here for a cruise on my wife’s 70th birthday.we were welcomed aboard by the captain and his crew who were a very friendly bunch. We saw pilot whales and dolphins and then had a swim in the sea there was snacks and a free bar as well I can’t recommend this trip highly enough and as the catamaran was returning to port the captain came and got my wife paraded her around the boat sat her in the captains chair and put on his hat and the whole boat sang happy birthday to her and also gave here a bottle of Prosecco it made her day and is something she will never forget thank you to all at mustcat catamarans

Email of complaint sent directly to Mustcat but 48 hours later still no reply.

We went on the 3 hour trip on 27th February 2022 and unfortunately had an awful time due to the sea conditions, majority of passengers were sick and multiple times.

Mustcat will I am sure claim that the weather is out of their control, but for a company that has sea experience they would of known prior to setting out that the weather was not ideal and should of postponed the trip. Other companies on the day postponed trips. Mustcat put profits before visitor’s enjoyment and safety even telling us prior to sailing that it wasn’t that bad out on the water.

The waves were much to rough - all of us (family of 4) were sick. Looking around I would say most of the other passengers were also sick at some point, multiple times! All passengers I spoke to couldn’t wait to get back to land.

It was so awful it has put my family on ever going on a boat again. I can’t describe how much of a bad experience it was and a ruined day of our holiday with us all feeling unwell for the rest of the day.

Shame on you Mustcat for offering such a terrible service.

Dear Michael, thank you for your feedback back and I am sorry that your experience was not positive. As you rightly point out, we are not responsible for the weather. The sea conditions were not ideal for people not used to the sea, but in my 27 years experience, for each of those that do not enjoy the rough conditions, there are an equal amount that do. You say that we put profit before customer enjoyment. Yes we are a business first and foremost but one thing that is never compromised is safety. You state that other companies did not sail on that day but that is untrue. If conditions are unsafe we are prevented from sailing but all boats on that day worked as normal. If we cancelled because of choppy seas or overcast weather or any other non perfect scenario, then it would not be a feasible business model. You will see, clearly, from our reviews that it is very rare that people complain so for this, no, I am not ashamed of our service. I am however sad that your experience was not positive and I would be more then happy to invite you back for free, should you return to Tenerife.

We took the 4,5 h tour and overall the experience was very good, we saw pilot whales, a fin whale and some dolphins, which was much more than we were expecting to see. There was a lot of staff on hand and we got some explanations through a loud speaker about the marine life and also the buildings at the coast. There was also a short swimbreak next to a nice cliff, and some googles were offered. Staff also threw some bread to the water to attact fish, and indeed, I saw some. However, the sound of the speech was not very clear to our seats and when we asked another crew member some questions, they quite rudely replied to several of them that it was already explained before. The food was also not good at all to our taste, but many others seemed to enjoy it. Sea was pretty rough at times, so a few people felt a bit sick. Still, all things considered, I think it was definitely worth the money, seeing all those marine mammals was a very memorable experience, and that was the main purpose of the cruise.

From start to finish this was a brilliant experience. We are not typically into group excursions but this didn’t feel like one. I booked via WhatsApp with Bart, who was incredibly polite, responsive and efficient; I was booked within minutes. We liked that the trip started at Las Galettas, where we might not have visited otherwise and it was a sweet harbour town. After the trip we had a fantastic fresh grilled fish for lunch while watching the surfers along the promenade - great value and a fantastic spot.
The boat trip itself was wonderful - the staff are really friendly and have a very fun approach. We were advised we were 50% likely to see dolphins and 90% likely to see pilot whales, and within minutes we were surrounded by a pod of active dolphins, seemingly enjoying the boat being there. Not long after we saw pilot whales swimming beside us, and as a boat we voted to skip the snorkelling in lieu of trying to find the large fin whale that had been reported to the captain. We successfully found it - the second largest whale in the world, and it was amazing to watch. As others have mentioned, the sandwiches aren’t gourmet but with a free bar and stunning restaurants at the end, and transport included if you need it, this trip is more than good value without the sandwiches. I would definitely recommend a trip with Muscat.

Thanks for your review. Yes, we are very lucky with whale and dolphin watching here in Tenerife. All our efforts go into this part of the trip rather then making it a gastronomical experience. We are conscious of costs too and I am happy that you feel it was great value for money. Please do come and see us if you come back to Tenerife.

Excellent & lucky day!
We were told that we may not see dolphins or whales, and it was due to them not wishing to pursue or seek them out unless they showed a natural curiosity to approach the catamaran. We accepted this & appreciated the ethical approach. If I wanted to see these majestic cameras in enforced captivity, playing up to their audience for their lunch, I would have attended one of the many commercial units that provide such an awful service.
Upside: we saw both sea creatures, which was very lucky! We offered drinks throughout the 3 hours; we also got to swim/snorkel - what an experience our children will never forget! The staff were also a highlight & very knowledgable.

Downside: you may not see the dolphins or whales, there were 2 food options of dry cheese or ham & honestly, very unappealing! Eat before you go. Final issue we had was that you could not hear the speaker on the mic unless Sat directly behind him.

We would def recommend a trip.

Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable boat trip last week. We left Las Galletas on the catamaran on a 3 hour trip and the weather was not brilliant. The crew told us that the sun would come out as we headed out to sea , (which it did)! Also that we should see whales and dolphins. There was free beer, wine and sangria along with soft drinks. We were offered sandwiches too. Extremely friendly and helpful crew. They were excellent spotting the whales and dolphins as we saw many of each. They also stopped off for some to have a swim in the ocean. We would definitely recommend and book again on our next visit to Tenerife. 🙂

Brilliant trip and would highly recommend. Collected from our accommodation and dropped back again. The guys in the boat made it fun and were also very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions.
We saw Spotted and Bottle nosed dolphins along with pilot whales, seeing anything is not guaranteed so to see all that in 3 hours meant we definitely got our moneys worth! The swim in the sea was lovely and snorkels were provided if you wanted to do some exploring. Book online for a discount and enjoy the great trip and service from start to finish.

Just a note to say we travelled on the catamaran on the 5th of April . We had initially booked the 4 and half hour trip on the Monday but this was cancelled due to bad weather . They happily transferred out trip to the next day albeit the slightly shorter excursion .

We saw plenty of dolphins and whales and the crew on board were extremely helpful and interactive . It was great value for money and you won’t be disappointed if you book with these guys . Well sorry giving it a go . They even have one poor customer who was sea sick a bottle of cava when he got off for being the hero of the day !!

Well done all. Keep up the good work !!

Thank you for your positive review. When it’s dangerous conditions we do cancel so for that I apologize that we couldn’t do the trip you booked. I m happy that we managed to get you out and that you saw the whales and dolphins. Do come and see us again if your are out in Tenerife.
