Wonderful day wandering around this garden admiring the sculptures. Backdrop is breathtaking. Fantastic meal in the restaurant was the highlight of the day. Much needed after the walking and didn’t disappoint!
Food was marvellous and service excellent. Highly recommend for a great day out if you are in the area.

The sculpture park is located about 2 km from Seggiano, a small (and remote) hill town on the western slopes Monte Amiata.....the opposite side of the mountain from the beautiful, but touristed Val d'Orcia and some 50 kilometers east of Grossetto (near the sea)......actually less than a short hour trip from Pienza (very touristed) to a calmer, more authentic view of Tuscany.
The sculpture park contains a variety of sculptural creations by Mr. Spoerri and by artists from around the world set amid the fields and woods. At the ticket office, they provide a comprehensive map of the park that is useful not only in identifying individual works, but also in navigating between the various areas as the park is quite large.
Many of the sculptures (or, objects) are placed in quite simple settings...few monumental pediments or elevated berms....just pieces of work sitting amid the surroundings. This is both part of the charm as you discover objects as you wander about and a bit of a worry as some of the smaller pieces seem lost on the ground or surrounded by trees & bushes. Overall the simplicity of the settings helps.
If you are in Tuscany and have to choose between the Chianti Sculpture Park and this park, choose Mr. Spoerri's creation. The pieces seem less 'serious', and tend toward the playful or reflective, versus making a big statement. And, the route of discovery through the fields and clumps of trees lends a certain charm to the various pieces. In the western portion of the park, there is a small rise with several very interesting larger works with the added benefit of a tremendous view of Seggiano and the surrounding countryside.
There is a building near the ticket office that has several rooms/suites available.....these are simple and inexpensive....and, if you stay there you can view the gardens before, or after, the closing hours. There is a restaurant on site. A walk of discovery at 6:30 a.m. as the sun was just starting to rise on what was to become a scorching summer day, was a both a bit magical and a welcome relief.

At every turn in this 16 hectare park there is a work of modern art that asks questions yet blends into the Tuscan countryside in a beautiful way. There is a plane crash set in the woods that is so real it is hard to believe it hasn't happened. A druidic circle on top of a hillside with the village of Seggiano as a backdrop is awe inspiring. As is the olive grove with a flock of several hundred geese being driven toward the village by 3 giant drummers. This leads on a voyeuristic a death scene of elephants. This doesn't begin to describe the experience of over 100 exhibits. if you like modern sculpture prepare to be wowed.

Interesting place and worth visiting for sure. But the adress here is wrong. Use google maps instead - or you will end in a orchard 4 km from the right location.

If you love art, and especially art on display in a breathtaking surrounding, then don't miss this place: a very large garden/wooded area will show you a large variety of contemporary art, a bit on the spiritual side, but really worth a visit.
There's an excellent little restaurant on the premises as well.

This 16 hectare sculpture park is located about 2 kilometres from Seggiano on the road from Seggiano to Pescina. We had enjoyed a great lunch at Il Silene (highly recommended) and saw the signs to the garden on our way back to Siena.
We had previously read a small article on the park and so we were intrigued to see what it was like. Large parking area and a small cafe at the entrance that appeared to serve meals. Entry was Euro10 per person which I thought was excessive.
There are approximately 111 sculpture works (nearly half created by Daniel Spoerri) on display throughout the property. Some are located on the sides of buildings, others in the forests/trees but the majority are located in one of the 7/8 roughly mowed grass paddocks that surround the property. Unfortunately some are overgrown by the grass.
There is a great panoramic view of Seggiano from the top of the hill in one paddock where there is also a sculpture of unicorn horns in a ring.
One positive is that there is an excellent plan of where the sculptures are located within the park that also displays ( on the reverse) a drawing of every sculpture so it is easy to identify what you are looking at.

A wonderful experience even if you are not into avant guarde art! The walk around the grounds is sensational. It's like a treasure map finding the exhibitions. There is a lovely little bistro there as well which serves reasonably priced food and at high quality. Try the taggiatelli- wonderful.

This was about our fourth visit. If we have house guests and the weather is good we take them here. There is so much to see and Spoerri’s sculptures are so interesting. There is usually new work added every time . Be prepared to devote a few hours if you want to see it all. As a bonus the small restaurant serves great food too.

Many many sculptures and installations some of questionable merit. A few were excellent, notably the elephants graveyard and the geese. If you like modern art combined with a stroll in the Tuscan countryside, then this is right up your "strasse".)All informations in Italian or German only!)

A jewel; intriguing, beautiful, disturbing, funny, interesting art in a varied and huge garden/estate in a beautiful setting with spectacular views and light.
Very friendly staff. Go as soon as it opens during the week if you want to get at least some of it to yourself for a while.
Afterwards, take a drive up Monte Amiata (the road goes up to 1734 metres) on spectacular roads, not least through gorgeous birch forests. It’s a ski resort in winter, so there are plenty of places at the top to get refreshments before driving down again.
