An amazing experience - can thoroughly recommend!! We had a previous trip cancelled due to weather (this is West Scotland so understandable) but had purchased the top up to enable rebooking/refund. We had a very helpful lady rebook us on to this flight and how lucky were we! Best day of the year weather wise, fabulous views on the way to Jura, 2 hour exploring there and a flight home. Staff were welcoming and super friendly. Most if not all of the negative reviews are because of cancellations due to weather or mechanical issues. Who wants to fly in a seaplane if the weather or plane is dodgy??! Buy the Premium upgrade and you can get a rebooking or refund.

Absolutely amazing , David met us at the Jetty and gave us our safety briefing along with an injection of humour , we were then introduced to our Pilot Reece , who was excellent,
We flew to Jura and had 2 hours on the Island before returning to Loch Lomond , on the Jura side Gordon provided us with all the info we needed and more humour ,
A truly wonderful experience, I would do it again in a second , The Scenery was out of this world and will last in our minds forever
David, Reece and Gordon , what a wonderful service you provide
Thank you all very much
Until the next time

We had the most amazing trip today, flew to Jura with 2 hours free time on the island before returning to Cameron House. All staff were so friendly, informative, caring and funny! Would highly recommend this to anyone, I have read some negative comments about difficulties in booking and our 1st attempt was cancelled but the customer service staff were 2nd to none in making sure we secured another date. Thank you Loch Lomond seaplanes for giving us a memorable experience!

Agree with the many negative reports on this company. Be VERY careful when booking as their communication is extremely poor. Like many who have had bad experiences with this organisation we weren't able to fly due to bad weather last April 2024. All I receieved was a cancellation text on the day of the flight. No alternatives provided! When I contacted them initially back in 2023 I was told I couldnt book because schedule wasnt released for 2024. I had purchsed a voucher worth almost £200 for my brothers 60th birthday in June 2023. The voucher has a life span of 12months and the earliest possible flight date due to limited flying times through the year was April 2024. I decided in December 2023 when booking for April 2024 for my brother that I would join him so purchsed my own flight for a value of alomst £200.
The flight was cancelled due to adverse weather which is fine, but no alternatives, no empathy, limited communication! Due to our busy schedules, the lmited flying schedule and the fact my brother lives near London I didn't try to rebook until December 2024, where I was told I was too late to use both vouchers (even though my voucher was still valid for. few days (12mnths). So there you go, £400 wasted, thanks a lot! Such a shame as I was really looking forward to sharing the experience of a bi-plane with my brother for his big birthday. Our father worked in the RAF on such planes so it was quite a sentimental idea I had planned.
So the bottom line here is to be incredibly careful when booking and be very lucky with the weather and your time planning!!!
They were not exactly empathetic when I asked if I could extend the vouchers to try and fly this year.
Thanks for, well, Nothing really!!!!

Thank you for your review - our flights are, of course, outdoor experiences in the UK and subject to weather. We fly 10,000 passengers on over 1,000 flights per year on up to ten flights a day (over 200,000 passengers in 21 years) and we offer various ticket options so that customers can choose the ticket options that suit them and their particular situations best. We advise passengers of weather issues as soon as we know about the in-flight conditions and passengers are asked to call our team to explore their options, for example, rebooking or perhaps, depending on their ticket purchase, a refund. Refundable tickets were available to you for purchase - the cheaper ticket you purchased provided you with a discount but you must rebook the flight if cancelled due weather - you confirmed your understanding of that at purchase checkout.

Very unprofessional. Pilot cancelled our flight due to weather, fair enough. We purchased the premium tickets in order to secure a refund as we do not live locally. I contacted and emailed the accounts department. James replied that it would be refunded within 28 days as per their T&C's. That deadline was missed. I emailed James again, he replied it would be refunded in 7 days. That deadline was missed. I emailed again, no reply until I phoned the sales line and was told the accounts do not have a phone line because they are working from home. She chased. Received a standard email reply with no name on it, stating they were chasing it through my bank. My bank have confirmed that no monies have been sent. I am now in the process of talking to citizens advice. A very disappointing end, that will mean I will not rebook.

We were supposed to take a flight for our daughter's 40th birthday on September 17, 2023 following bad weather conditions, it was canceled by Loch Lomond. We had taken premium tickets, we requested a refund by email on September 19, 2023 but unfortunately to date and despite several reminders, we still have nothing. The general reimbursement conditions are not respected.

If you are booking this as part of a trip which we did, don’t bother as it will inevitably lead to disappointment. Our initial day we booked was changed and then on the rearranged day we were due to take the trip it was cancelled due to weather. The annoying thing was the day we had initially booked was sunny and fine but apparently was a pilot rest day, as was the next day (despite not flying the previous three days!) we were told it’s cancelled more than it actually flies. Then we had to battle to get a refund. When we eventually received it we found we were charged for the gift card we never used. Very disappointing.

Dear Mr R, I can understand your frustration and the disappointment you experienced when your flight was cancelled due to weather - we too are disappointed when the weather gets in the way, but, unfortunately, that is the one thing that we cannot control.
As you will know, any outdoor experience in the UK is subject to weather, particularly one taking in the views at a mile every 20 seconds over a 100 mile tour route. However, for those who are unaware of the UK weather patterns you will see that we are very up front and provide a great deal of weather information (Ts&Cs, FAQs, etc) on our website, particularly, about how it may affect our service, I note that you wisely bought the Premium Refund Ticket Option, in case of weather problems.
If I may, I'd like to add a few details to supplement your information: Due to staff rescheduling we contacted you over six weeks before your flight to offer you alternative dates and you chose the Sunday two days before your original booking. Of course, the weather was disappointing on that day as it could have been on any day chosen so long in advance. Interestingly, your flight on the initial date that you booked would also have been cancelled due to poor visibility and low overcast cloud in the early part of the day.
Just a correction for you - the aircraft did fly in the three days before and indeed the day after your flight (14 flights). Strict laws govern a pilot's duty hours and days off, hence, of course, the reason for the initial schedule change.
For your information, we fly some 800-1,000 flights per year and carry over 8,000 passengers so cancellations are clearly not as you state. LLS has now carried over 150,0000 passengers.
There was no battle for a refund which I believe reached you a day or so late on the 28 days stated in our Ts&Cs - after we process a refund, delays, beyond our control, can be experienced as the refund makes its way through your credit card company. Once again, I'm sorry that the weather caused you such a great disappointment.
Regards

Great if your flight takes off on schedule or delayed by less than hour but if flight is delayed by more than hour, they do not Refund- even if you paid extra £20 for Premium flight, which , according to their own terms and conditions- permits you to a Refund.
I have emailed them 3 times, requesting a Refund.
No Reply- No Response.
On the actual day I received an email to say my 3:25pm flight was scheduled to depart 4:25pm.
I turned up at 12pm & requested a Refund but was prepared to be a Stand by on any flight, in the event someone cancelled or didn’t turn up.
Neither of these were acceptable.
I sat around all afternoon, sat on benches near take off location.
Not once did they approach me to update me whether there was space on a flight .
I did hear him say to a group -
It’s a bit misty but due to clear. But if visibility is not good, you’ll get Refunds.
Shallow words to me !
As the afternoon wore on, the flights became more and more delayed.
The 2:15pm flight had not taken off by 3:50pm !
I know this because I was chatting with an American lady who was on the 2:15pm flight.
My 3:25pm flight was certainly not going to take off before 4:25pm but much , much later.
But no one came to advise me or give me updates.
So, Fabulous if your Flight takes off on time or delayed by less than hour but terrible if you are requesting a Refund - as per their own terms and conditions

The facts are - Several hours before your flight you approached our staff at the aircraft and the first thing that you said was that you wanted a refund because we had delayed the flight by one hour due to weather (you actually confirmed all of that in this review) - the one hour delay agreement is in our terms and conditions. You argued, in front of a large crowd, that you couldn’t accept an hours delay as you had booked a train - you argued that as we had advised of a delay of one hour that this meant you could get a refund because our Ts&Cs said, “up to one hour” - your argument was that a one hour delay could not be included by the term “up to one hour”???. You were advised, with several hours to go until your flight, that the delay may be less - you continued to argue for a refund - we did manage to find someone on an earlier flight who would swap with you but by then, some time before your flight, you had gone for your train and your seat flew empty.

Having booked twice and been cancelled twice, I can't comment on the experience itself. I can only comment on our experience with the company.
1. Expect to be cancelled. For us our first booking was cancelled because of a 'technical issue'. Okay, it happens. So we re-booked. The second booking was cancelled because of 'gale force winds'. At this point, already down over £1000 on hotel bookings, we wonder if re-booking again is worth the risk. They call it a risk, for us 2 out of 2 makes it more a probability. Incidentally, as they point out, they are not responsible for the weather, but they are absolutely responsible for technical issues. This really should be on them.
2. Don't be lured by offers of discounts, vouchers and gift cards. You will be locked into a non-refundable deal. If you are cancelled they will offer re-booking. How many times can you do that?
3. Don't assume that re-fundable hotel bookings are a good idea. LLS will not give you enough notice to let you cancel your hotel. Our first booking was cancelled at 06:18 on the morning of. That was 4 hours notice. Our second booking was cancelled at 18:41 the evening before. It's hard to cancel a hotel booking when you're already checked in.
4. Don't expect to b able to reason with them. LLS don't do that.
5. Don't expect courtesy or good will. Don't expect tip-top customer engagement. LLS don't do that. Watch their response to this and see how it all becomes my fault.
In short, I am not recommending.

Many thanks for your review.
Flying in a seaplane over the magnificent landscape of Scotland’s West Coast is an incredible experience and as it is an outdoor experience in the UK/Scotland sometimes cancellations do occur - in context, we have flown over 1,000 flights and almost 10,000 passengers since April (7 months) with up to 12 flights per day, seven days a week.
Our decision to cancel a flight is taken very carefully and always considers your safety, comfort, enjoyment and, of course, in not wasting your money on a poor experience.
We do our best to put lots of advice on our website to help customers to make their own decision on the purchase including on advice on travelling a long way and booking hotels - we are unaware where our customers are coming from (particularly the recipients of Gift Cards) and what their plans are etc - our customers will know best if this experience works for them and we are always happy to answer any questions to assist in their purchase decision. To assist our customers, we do offer REFUNDABLE tickets at a small additional cost.

The customer service (including the manager ) is appalling to say the least! Quick enough to take your money when booking but when they cancelled the flight due to adverse weather they don’t want to help. Going by previous reviews it seems to be the case if your flight goes ahead all is well but if it doesn’t your in for problems , rude, untrained staff & a manager /owner who treats his customers like 💩 completely unacceptable. I’d say to anyone thinking of booking , don’t waste your money! Cameron house should rethink who they are allowing to moor on their premises as Loch Lomond sea planes don’t even merit 1 star 🌟 never mind 5. Change your attitude to your paying customers !

Dear Sir, you purchased our standard ticket which clearly requires rebooking in the event of a weather cancellation (Ts&Cs, website advice, email reminders, telephone advice) - at the time of purchase, due to the distance you planned to travel, our staff recommended that if it was inconvenient to return for a rebooking in the event of a weather cancellation that you should consider purchasing the ticket which provides for a refund - you declined.
The Ts&Cs with our standard ticket are in line with the experience industry standard conditions. LLS was the first in the UK to offer a refundable ticket, at a very nominal cost, which, unfortunately, you stated at the time of your purchase, you did not want.
The weather was poor on the day of your recent flight and unfortunately, it was cancelled with your comfort and safety in mind - with six months validity left on your ticket and many hundreds of seats available to book you demanded a refund as you could not return for a rebooking - you further advised that if you did not get a refund then you would take action.
Finally, having listened to all of your calls, the fact is that all of your comments about our staff members are completely incorrect.
Regards

Was a present but the package we had enabled us to rebook due to adverse weather on the day, twice. Prosecco after the trip is a nice touch!

Hello I’ve booked a trip up to Scotland in July and very much want to book a trip on the seaplanes, would I need to book the one with insurance considering July is a great month for weather 😜. I’m all for saving pennies.
Thanks.
Maria.

Hi Maria, the weather in Scotland is very changeable and unpredictable all year - it is a maritime airmass. Our PREMIUM TICKET is our standard ticket and our CLASSIC is our discount ticket but it does come with terms and conditions which are standard across the experience industry. In fact, we are the only company that we know who offers a Premium type ticket.
For customers who have limited time in the area and would find returning if cancelled due weather difficult or impossible I would recommend the PREMIUM ticket with the refund option.
