Visiting this natural spring was part of a tour my wife and I took in Ischia. We were looking forward to soaking in warm thermal baths, but we did not do our homework and were sorely disappointed. The natural spring water here flows from the ground at 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit), so not even warm bath temp, and can only be used as a shower or from a hose. It is said to have healing powers, but we are not prepared to opine on that issue. Would be nice on a very warm sunny day when getting wet and cool then lounging in the sun would be enjoyable. On our day, the air temp was 17.2 degrees Celsius (63 degrees Fahrenheit) so we could not warm up after getting wet. There is a cafe on site, and the views are spectacular, especially from the top tier of lounges. Bring a bathrobe and towel if you come, and choose a warm day.

We stayed for two weeks at the sea view apartment and it was wonderful! The apartment was clean, the kitchen was fully equipped and the view was just amazing.  Anna and Guiseppe welcomed us warmly. We got picked up at the Nitrodi bus stop which you can reach by foot from the apartment. They even provided us with fruits and food for breakfast. You can get healthy drinking water for free at the Nitrodi fountain during your stay. You should definitely visit the Nitrodi spa. We enjoyed the showers and the beautiful garden at Nitrodi. They also offer yoga or meditation on top of a mountain with a fantastic view. We would recommend to explore the island on a scooter. Feel free to ask Anna or Guiseppe. They always have a good tip for rentals, beaches, restaurants or whatever you need. Anna and Guiseppe, thank you for having us and sharing all the wonderful places with us. S + A

The most amazing place ever! It was totally relaxing, and I physically felt the effects of the healing waters. I highly recommend! I also highly recommend the Cantina restaurant at the entrance of the Fonte delle Ninfe. The small family owned restaurant has some of the best food I had during my entire stay in Italy!

The people running this place should be ashamed of themselves. They demand 13 euros for shower water. In the past it was much more affordable but since it has been privatized the new owners charge what they want and of course the prices have inflated to horrible levels. The owners even make sure nobody bets a chance to try the magnificent water by padlocking every free fountain. Shame on you!

kind sir, I believe that you should be ashamed at first, because you does not have the slightest idea of what our facility and secondly because write a review basing everything on the price without knowing what you're talking about is a sign of rudeness and poor culture. I will not dwell further we would only like to point out that our rates have remained unchanged since the 2011 period in which the management was still the town of Barano d'Ischia and no change was made later. All in all it is fortunate that people like you thanks to our rates are not attending the park because basically not appreciate anything and would spend a day thinking all the time about money ....

We went to the Nitrodi spring as part of an organised round-the- island trip. Consequently it was a bit on the busy side.
Nevertheless, it is worth going. The location is lovely and if you want a spa treatment they are all available.
They also sell rejuvinating mud packs and treatments to take away. Our companions were quite keen, but on discovering the cost of the eternal youth pack decided to opt for the 'take you back a couple of hours pack' instead.
The waters apparently have magical properties (like the waters in springs all over the world) both externally and internally.
We took some home (take a bottle and fill it from the running pipe by the shop) and when chilled makes a very refreshing drink. I haven't noticed any magical changes - but I'm sure they will happen soon.

I came in the beginning of July. It's so hot and humid everywhere and Nitrodi was like a breath of fresh air.
The hillside picks up a nice fresh breeze and the mineral showers were very refreshing.
Some pools would be nicer and a bit more space amongst the gardens (the terraces are very narrow), but it's still a lovely relaxing way too spend an afternoon.
The salad was nice, don't bother with the overpriced health drink and face mask.
I don't know if the water is healing or not, but it sure felt nice and cool!

This very lovely place is not a hot spring exactly. People have been coming here since ancient times to "take" the waters which ,when combined with all the healing plants that border the walkways, are meant to cure skin conditions. The showers, not baths, come out of the rocks along the hillside. You get wet, in tepid water, rub your hands on various plants, and dry in the sun. There are lounges and chairs on the natural terraces. Bring a snack, take the day to relax.
We took the bus from Ischia Porto, the CS, get off at the stop after the town. Ask the driver to tell you. It is the stop after you cross the bridge, heading to S'ant Angelo. Then you walk down steps to the Terme. If you get off in town it would be a very long walk, unless a local gives you a lift, which is what happened to us, neat lady.
Good experience, but not a soak in a hot springs, which is what we thought it was. Wonderful view.

This is a great alternative to the larger day spa's on Ischia. It is claimed the waters of Nitrodi have wonderful healing powers, especially for skin ailments. Small, inexpensive and relaxing. There's a great little cafeteria offering yummy healthy salads & juices. Check it out if you're after an authentic Ischia natural spring that dates back to Roman times.
