Enjoyed the showers at Nitrodi. Took the bus from Porto. Lovely experience. Take your slippers and towels with you. Would be nice to sit in a tub filled with Nitrodi water to get full benefit. Water is cold so be prepared for it

This was an organised trip so didn't know much about it. If you are expecting thermal pools you can relax in you will be sorely disappointed. This was an experience standing under a cold shower repeatedly and the face mask was some cream squeezed out of a tube onto the back of my hand which I then had to apply to my face. We weren't warned that it is quite a walk down a cobbled path walking back up was taxing. A rather disappointing experience for me.

This is a beautiful place with extraordinary views to the sea. There were a few too many people for my taste, but once one ventures to the upper levels, it is quite pleasant. The water is said to possess healing powers and you get a face mask with your entrance fee. Worth it.

This place with a lot of history and charme is managed by people not up to their task, only interested in selling products and pre-arranged packages, not willing to listen to visitors preferences.

Response from Giuseppe D, Direttore at Fonte delle Ninfe Nitrodi

Dear Roberto, we regret that your experience was negative, but we would have liked more information in order to use his review to improve ourselves. Our staff is always available to support customer needs unless it is "impossible requests" and explain and give all the necessary information in various languages when guests arrive, so its review seems really strange to us.

Very smartly and pleasantly set in a nook of a walkway down a tiny, narrow gorge. They play up the Graeco-Roman history and religion part a little bit, still do it with reasonable taste and much better fairness than you might expect. They first tell you this is about showering rather than bathing in hot water, so unlike most of us expect. They do so before you pay, hence good fairness. Matter of fact, you do feel cool in April with 17 Celsius, letting 27 Celsius water dry on your skin after showers. It felt good while the sky was clear, a bit less comfortable when it got cloudy. If you are like us, you need to enjoy a bit of a shiver. The one point for attention is if your skin is quite sensitive to sun: even with a good lotion you do get exposed and mildly burnt since showers quickly wash it away. We did enjoy it very much, as many do including hikers on their way back from Monte Epomeo. The small bar serves a smal selection of tasty, substantial, very good salads and sandwiches for an acceptably high price, we enjoyed them, too.
