The villa, completely swallowed up by the urban fabric, appears to be accessible from the opposite side where the navigator takes you and this adds a small amount of time to go to the other side and leave the car. In any case, for the modest sum of €6 you can enter from the rear garden and cross the 2 exedras full of enigmatic statues which have given this patrician construction an aura of mystery;
the two monumental staircases lead to the right side of the truly interesting main floor.
Masonic elements are everywhere and there is a complete lack of furniture.
The apartments on the left side of the house are closed to visits although we were lucky to find an owner in the house who let us have a fleeting look and it seemed very interesting.
I'm sure there are guided tours available upon request, an audio guide or explanatory panels placed in the most interesting points of the villa would have been useful.
They explained to us that the property is private and that there are great difficulties in recovering the architectural asset.
It is preferable to have done some historical research online before the visit.

There is a large villa with strange statues. The story alone is great!
The prince had his son decorate the villa. There were always a lot of people coming to the villa, and the son thought these were all strange people. And so he made deformed caricatures in tuft stone that make funny faces. So they must represent the prince's friends and acquaintances.
There were once about 600 statues, now only 60 remain.
Pretty special and funny.
The villa itself is actually well preserved, especially with the ceilings that are mirrors (and now unfortunately black due to age).
Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful villa (inhabited) which can also be visited with a guide at a cost of 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children over 5 years of age.
The villa is very beautiful especially for the particularity of the statues and the mirror room.
It is not at all shabby as described in other reviews and is definitely worth a visit if you are on a trip out of town.

1 star because we couldn't visit. Note: Villa is closed from 13:00 to 16:00. We arrived @ 12:20. Google took us through a bunch of narrow streets with blind corners only to arrive at the back gate where you cannot enter. We had to find our way to the front gate and find street parking. Still made it by 12:35. Gates locked! Saw a groundskeeper and pointed to my watch. Groundskeeper pointed to the fine print on the sign that said they close 1/2 hour prior to closing, which really means they close at 12:30. We never made it in. My husband was so frustrated he said we're not coming back. I hope my review helps others avoid our frustration.

A villa and a garden with immense potential but, as often happens, poorly managed and partly closed.
In any case, only the hall and its main ceiling repay the price and give prestige and dignity to this historic villa.
It wouldn't take much more to make it enchanting, but when you see cars parked in the garden which unfortunately isn't kept very well and a good part of the villa closed, leaving you are left with a lot of bitterness.
IMMENSE VALUE.

Pleasant surprise. Beautiful architectural layout. Currently undergoing restoration, it can therefore be partially visited. You can breathe an atmosphere of times gone by and you can even appreciate the decadence. The meeting with one of the owners who fascinated us with stories from her childhood was wonderful. The caretaker who offered explanations and meanings was very kind.
Recommended visit for a journey into the past of the Sicilian nobility.

A real disappointment. The villa and the garden are in poor condition of maintenance and. It could be enhanced, but I do not think there is the will as several cars are parked in the garden.
The price, given the state in which it is located, seems to me very excessive.

We did not have the opportunity to visit the villa because, although we arrived on time, the staff did not allow us to access the structure because they would have to take a break soon.
Despite our insistence, because we were only passing through Bagheria and I repeat perfectly respecting the times indicated both on the site and at the entrance, they invite us to return at 4.00 pm, exactly half an hour after the official opening.
Zero desire to work, zero friendliness.

Stunning baroque villa, an essential stop for those visiting Bagheria or for fans of the eighteenth-century villas in Panormia. Truly outside the classic mold, every corner is a treasure chest of history. Discover it too, starting from the exceptional bedroom.

I had a specific purpose in seeking out this wonderful Palazzo. I made a special journey to it from my base in Palermo. I am very interested in the lives of Lord Nelson and Emma Hamilton. I knew they (Lord and Lady Hamilton and Nelson) rented this once magnificently quirky villa when they fled to Palermo from Naples with the King and Queen of Naples who were under threat from Napoleon. This was the first place that Nelson and Lady Hamilton lived together. Theirs was a legendary and enduring love affair. The villa was a must see on the Grand Tour. It was and still is bizarre but for me it was well worth the visit on an extremely hot July day. There are only three unfurnished rooms to see but they are magnificent. I sat on the marble floor of the ballroom and was able to imagine Lady H performing her legendary 'Attitudes'. The villa is faded but for me, exceptionally beautiful. I was taken back in time to 1799. The gardens and gargoyles are fabulous. Thank you for keeping it open. I would love to see it restored to its former glory.
