Shall enough museum which covers the history of the region in ancient Greek and roman times. It was €1 in; even though I arrived 20 minutes early the curator opened up for me. There could be better lighting.

This museum is certainly worth an hour of time. We visited in the morning before going to the Royal Tombs at Aigai in nearby Vergina. It gives a lot of background historical information regarding the area covering from 8th-10th C BC to the 16th Century.

The museum is well laid out and all exhibits are explained in Greek and English. The terracotta figures from the region are superb; the best we have see. The statue of the god Oleganos is excellent

If you're into ancient artifacts, THIS is the place to go. It's not a big museum, but you are allowed to get up close and personal with the artifacts. I LOVED it!
